Bike Frame Adapter Bar

Swagman Deluxe Adapter Bar Easy InstallationSwagman Deluxe Adapter Bar Easy Installation

This adapter bar allows you to carry a bike with a sloping top tube or step-through frame on your bike rack. It fits between the seat post and handlebar stem post of your bike to ensure level transport on your hanging-style bike rack. It also creates a top tube so you can carry your bike on a frame-mount platform-style rack. The spring-loaded bar telescopes to fit multiple frame sizes, and it can be used with no-rise bike stems.

Easy Installation

Swagman Deluxe Adapter Bar Vinyl Collars

To install the adapter bar simply open the hooks with the integrated release buttons, wrap one hook around your handlebar stem post and the other around your seat post, and close the hooks. The hooks open outward - parallel with the bar - to help you avoid interference from the seat and handlebars during installation. The bar has red "Up" indicators on each end to help prevent incorrect installation. The hooks have a vinyl coating that won't scratch or scuff your bikes' paint.

  • Do I Need a Bike Frame Adapter Bar when Using the RV Rider with Step-Thru Electric Bikes?
I have a great solution for you. Even though the independently-adjusting cradles on the Yakima OnRamp # Y36FR eliminate the need of a bike frame adapter bar, the OnRamp is not safe to use on the back of a flat-towed vehicle. I I confirmed with the engineers at Yakima that the OnRamp cannot withstand the extra torque/forces exerted on the rack during transport on your 2019 Jeep Wrangler. Even if the OnRamp was approved, the 5-inch distance between the center of the pinhole and the closest...

  • Will the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Clear My Spare Tire on My Jeep Wrangler?
Yes! Our part number # HLY64FR is the same as the Hollywood Racks part number HR1700. These both correspond to the Hollywood Racks RV Rider. As far as clearing your spare tire on your Jeep Wrangler, there is a definite way to tell if you have enough clearance with the rack installed on your hitch (if you have a hitch receiver). Since the shank of the RV Rider measures 7-1/2" from the center of the shank's pinhole to the closest part of the rack, you have the ability to make a measurement...

  • What Bike Rack do You Recommend for My 60-Pound E-Bike on My 2013 Ford Focus?
I have a great solution for you for a bike rack with a ramp. Unfortunately, Saris does not make a ramp for the Saris MTY Bike Rack SA4031. We also do not have a bike rack that has a ramp for a single bike. With that being said, we do have a 2-bike option that comes with a ramp. For that route, I recommend the Yakima OnRamp # Y96FR (for 1-1/4" hitches) or the # Y88DJ (for 2-inch hitches). The great thing about the OnRamp in addition to the included ramp is that you will not have to purchase...

  • How To Carry 4 Bikes On A 2008 Mazda 5
I do have a couple options for you but Class I hitches like the Draw-Tite Class I Sport Frame part # 24773 that fits the 2008 Mazda 5 are designed to only carry 2 bikes because of it's limited tongue weight rating. The weight of the bikes and bike rack is all considered tongue weight on the hitch and putting 4 bikes on a rack in a Class I hitch would create too much leverage and possibly damage the hitch or vehicle. With that being said, I recommend to get a 2 bike rack for the Class I...

  • What Bike Frame Adapter Bar do You Recommend for My Children's Bikes?
For a great option for a bike frame adapter bar for your children's bikes, I recommend two of the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's, Children's, and Alternative Frame Bikes # 64005. This adapter bar comes with a telescoping tube that extends 24-3/8" to 33-3/4" to ensure a snug fit on most bikes. It is also compatible on all brands of bike racks that require its use. The adapter gives you a straight, horizontal plane needed to attach to your rack.

  • How Do I Install Straps Without Hooks For My Trunk Mounted Bike Rack On My 2017 Toyota Prius?
For your 2017 Toyota Prius with Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack, # Y02634, the attached instructions show you how to convert the hooks to anchors. The anchors are made by essentially feeding the strap back through a slot in the hook to allow the entire hook to remain inside the hatch as an anchor. I've attached a picture to assist as well.

  • 3-Bike Trunk Rack Recommendation for a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica
Definitely! For a great 3-bike trunk rack for your 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, I recommend the Yakima HangOut 3 Bike Rack # Y02638. This rack comes with a 35 pound per-bike weight capacity (90 pound maximum overall capacity). It also comes with anti-sway cradles that eliminate the tendency for bike movement during transport. As far as locks, the best and most economical way to lock the rack and the bikes is by purchasing the passive security strap # Y02623 along with the etrailer cable lock...

  • Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Compatible with 2016 Volvo XC90 Spoiler
On your 2016 Volvo XC90 if you have a roof rack you can use the Hollywood Racks Over-The-Top Trunk Bike Rack # HRF2 or # HRF2-3. I confirmed this with the manufacturer. We don't list the fit in our guide because it requires the rails for a fit. If you don't have a roof side rails then you will need to add a roof rack to your flush mounted rails to use that rack. The # RRVA126B-2 and # RRSX040 are my recommendation. If you have the raised factory side rails then you don't need to add...

I attached a link to a demo video for the Thule Passage 2 # TH910XT being installed on a hatchback Toyota Prius C for you to check out. If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Swagman Easy-Out Women's and Alternative Frame Bike Adapter # 64005 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. • Recommended Bike Rack for Trek Verve 3 with Step-Through Frame for a 2004 Volvo S40
The Swagman Chinook # S64683 is a great bike rack that can be adjusted to hold kid's bikes so I don't think that the hook being able to come down far enough will be an issue. My only concern is that the 3rd point of contact will be lower so I am not sure how secure a bike with a low step-through frame will do. To ensure that your wife's bike will remain secure in the bike rack there are 2 options. You could either use an Adapter Bar # 64005 which is typically used for hanging style...

  • Recommend Trunk Mount Bike Rack for Carrying an Electra Townie on a 2010 Toyota Prius
I do have a trunk mount bike rack option available for your 2010 Toyota Prius, however, the Hollywood Racks Gordo part # HRG2 is not a confirmed fit. For a bike rack that is a confirmed fit and will work well with your Electra Townie, I recommend using the Thule OutWay Trunk Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH45JV. The OutWay is my number one choice for trunk bike racks. It is the easiest to install because it uses only 2 rubbeer-coated straps instead of the 4-6 straps of other carriers. It comes...

  • Trunk Mount Bike Rack to Carry Electra Townie Womens Bike on a 2001 Ford Escape
Both the Hollywood Racks Expedition, part # HRF6-2, and the Saris Solo, part # SA102, are confirmed to fit your 2001 Ford Escape. Even though both racks fit I believe there's a better option. For almost every vehicle with a rear hatch the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top, part # HRF2, is the best fit. It's specifically designed for hatchbacks. You'll need an adapter bar for an Electra Townie on any hanging bike rack. I recommend the Swagman Deluxe, part # 64005.

  • Recommended 2 Bike Rack For 2013 Honda Fit Sport Where Trunk Mounted Racks Wont Fit
I reached out to my contact at Thule and they confirmed they do not have any fits for your 2013 Honda Fit Sport Model. They said the reason is the factory spoiler is not strong enough to support the straps. All of our manufacturers exclude the Sport model for this reason. My recommendation is to use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11064 and then use the Thule Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Rack # TH92BJ which is a confirmed fit along with the support strap...

From the looks of your recent searches, you are looking for a 1-bike wheel-mount hitch bike rack for your electric fat bike with 4.8 inch tires. For a great rack that fits your needs, I recommend the Saris MHS Modular Bike Rack for 1 Bike - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # SAR23MR. The perfect solution for you to carry your EVELO Luna with the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2-Bike Carrier for Electric Bicycles # HLY84FR would be to use an adapter bar which attaches between your seat post and handlebar stem to create a horizontal mounting point. You can see exactly what it does in the photo I've attached for you. • Best Option for Bike Rack on 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid
Your best option for a 3-bike rack would be to use a hitch, the Curt # C13383, which is a fit for your vehicle, and a hitch-mounted bike rack. The reason for this is the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 3 Bike Rack HRF2-3 must be attached to a trunk or hatch lid made of steel and because your 2017 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid does not have that, you will not want to use this rack. In addition, I do not recommend using the Yakima trunk-mounted racks that fit your Pacifica either, because the upper...

The biggest difference between the two and is only an advantage for some people is that the Yakima can fit on spare tires that are up to 12.5 inches wide whereas the Thule can only fit tires that are up to 10 inches wide. • Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation for 2016 Winnebago View Class C Motorhome
I have a bike rack that will work for you, but I cannot recommend the Kuat Sherpa # SH22G for use on your 2016 Winnebago View. Kuat does not approve the use of their Sherpa 2.0 - or other bike racks - on motorhomes or camper trailers. A bike rack is put under a lot more torque and stress when used at the back of a motorhome or camper when compared to being used on a vehicle. Kuat has not tested and designed their bike racks for use under these more strenuous environments. There are not...

I recommend checking your owner's manual to make sure you are within the manufacturer's specifications. For a trailer hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75908.
