Question:

Will kids bikes fit on the SportRack Hitch 4-Bike Rack - SR2415? Or will I need an adapter? If not, do you have any other recommendations for a family of 5 - needing to fit at least 2 adult bikes, and 2 kids bikes 16inch and 20. Thanks in advance!

The SportRack Ridge Swing 4 Bike Rack part # SR2415 will work with kid's bikes as well as most adult bikes. That said, if any of these bikes have an alternative frame type which is common on kid's and women's bikes then you will need an adapter bar which ensures the bikes hang level so that you don't have to worry about the tires coming into contact with the road. The Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar part # 64005 is our most cost effective option.

Please note, any hanging style bike rack will require an adapter like the above for women's and kid's bikes. The only option to avoid this is to jump up to a platform style rack which are much less cost effective.

I’m so confused. Lol. I have a 2019 Toyota Rav 4. I want to be able to move the bikes out of the way easily to access the hatch without removing the bikes. I also want something that folds up when not in use and fits close to the back of the vehicle so that it doesn’t stick out much when not in use. It would also be nice to have something that’s easy to remove when I don’t want it on there at all. Thank you so, so much for any help and suggestions you can give.

Sounds like you're describing the Thule Apex Swing XT 4 Bike Rack # TH9027XT. This will fit great on your 2019 Toyota RAV4 as long as you have a 2" hitch, like part # C13416, and it gives you the option to swing the whole bike rack away from your vehicle without having to remove the bikes. The arms fold down to reduce how much it sticks out when you don't have bikes loaded, and it weighs in at 42 lbs which is actually pretty light considering it can hold 4 bikes and swing away.
