Question:

Another question. Is there something a little less expensive and that will carry less bikes. I only need two bikes attached.

The Yakima FullBack 3 # Y02633 will fit your 2018 Honda CR-V as long as it is not a Touring model. This is an excellent choice for a truck mount bike rack because of the adjustability of the arms, easy to use ZipStrip straps, and integrated cable lock. I have linked a video review of this rack for you.

If you do have a Touring model then there is a 3-bike rack that will work; the Hollywood Racks Over-The-Top rack # HRF2-3.

You will not be able to open the rear hatch with any trunk mount bike rack installed for a few reasons. First the hatch was not designed to hold additional weight. This could mean the hatch may unexpectedly close and/or wear down the hinges. Also the gap between the hatch and the roof changes shape when the hatch opens. This can cause the metal bike rack hooks to deform the metal in the roof and/or hatch.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.

Yes, absolutely. The Yakima FullBack for 2 bikes # Y02634 will also fit (non-Touring models). And for Touring models the option is the 2-bike version of the Over-the-Top rack # HRF2.
