This silencer applies tension to your 2" Draw-Tite hitch receiver and ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory to help eliminate rattle and movement in your setup. Hinged door acts as a hitch cover to keep your empty receiver clean.

Notes:
The QSP trailer hitch silencer is the perfect accessory for your 2" x 2" Draw-Tite hitch. It enhances your towing experience by helping to reduce the free play that exists between your trailer hitch receiver and your ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory. By adding the QSP to your setup, you can stabilize your hitch-mounted accessory as it sits in the receiver to eliminate noisy rattle, jarring, vibrations, and sway that might otherwise cause damage to your hitch or equipment.
Installing the QSP silencer and cover is easy. Slide the QSP bracket over the collar of your hitch receiver. Then attach the cover to the bracket with the included hinge pin.
To use the QSP, open the cover and raise the lever. Then insert your accessory or towing equipment into your hitch receiver and secure it with a pin and clip (sold separately). Finally, lower the lever to tighten the QSP around your receiver and the shank of your accessory or towing equipment.
When you're not using your receiver, the attached cover helps to keep out grime and works to deter rust. This hinged cover proudly displays the well-known Draw-Tite name on the back of your vehicle. Magnets in the cover and on the bracket help to keep the cover closed.

This hitch silencer works amazingly well. Such a simple and effective device. One star off for the magnet that holds it close, constantly failing, but easy enough to replace with another one. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has trailer “rattle“, with the bonus of keeping dirt and garbage out of your trailer hitch when not in. etrailer’s service, communication, and information always get an A+.
It would be worth the money but it does not fit my car, a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder. The hinge pin hac to be put in upside down because it hits the bumper if attempted to put in right side up. Putting in on from the passenger side was very difficult and had to use a rubber hammer to tap in on because the holes for the safety chain were in the way. I did get it on and the trailer ball adapter still feels loose but I haven’t hooked up the trailer to see yet. I hope the cover stays on and the hinge pin does not fall out because it is on upside down. All in all, I suppose it would be the real deal but don’t think so right now.
It was nearly impossible to install, and the toe hitch receiver didn’t fit into the cover.
The silencer works great, however the magnet that keeps the cover closed became unglued and fell out after about 6 months and so the cover would not stay closed. I thought it maybe just my bad luck and so I ordered another hitch silencer from etrailer, and so far the magnet has stayed glued in on the 2nd hitch silencer. Fingers crossed
Doesn't work on my brand new gmc sierra hitch. The end collar of receiver is rounded and won't work with your silencer.
Garbage does fit and the return shipping is $[XX] on an item that was only $[XX]. More junk rip off garbage
etrailer! Is a life saver! First I looked around to get a a hitch installed on my 2023 Mazda Cx9. To have it done by a local installer the prices were somewhat outrageous. I’ve installed a hitch on a previous vehicle, so once I found etrailer and the prices were very reasonable. I installed it with no problems, just followed their videos which made it easy!
I am just waiting on the back order of the wire harness to come in and shipped to me! One other great thing about the etrailer staff…I also ordered a anti rattle silencer! When the box arrived via UPS both ends of the hitch were sticking out of the box…when I opened the box the anti rattle silencer was not in the bag it was shipped in . Looks like UPS through it back in the torn box but didn’t place the pin needed to use the silencer. I wrote etrailer about the missing piece along with pictures. And they corrected my problem. So I highly recommend etrailer for your trailering needs!
Thanks etrailer

So far used it once for a trailer haul of 600+ miles! No rattle at all! I had to keep looking in the rear view mirror to make sure trailer was still there.
Best thing I ever bought!!! Works perfectly!! Such a simple solution to a noise problem! Had my doubts about it. But so happy I bought this. Would recommend this to everyone!!!

Great it stops the raddle from the hitch. Its vary annoying before I bought your product. I thank you vary much !!!!

I love this device. I use it for my hitch mounted ebike carrier. The rack plus the bikes is pretty heavy and this hitch silencer gives me the peace of mind that the rack won't rattle too much. Very solid!
Since I don't leave the rack on all the time, this piece makes it so much easier to take it on and off. The other kind of anti-rattle hook up was a heavy metal plate that I had to bolt on each time I needed to use it and same to take it off. Here I just flip the lever and I'm good to go.
Also since it stays on the hitch all the time it makes a nice cover.

This is a very handy and cost effective method to stop rattling.I use it for my ebike carrier which is very heavy. After a year, I still appreciate it. One little glitch is that the cover does not stay shut.Cery minor issue - I just put a piece of tape on it.
Went on tight and secure. Draw Tite hitches are always excellent and etrailer is the only place I will ever purchase hitches.
Have used this product with both bike rack and trailers. It helps insure a tight connection. Plus the cover helps keep the inside of the receiver clean.

Durable and makes for a clean looking installation when the receiver is not being used.
This cover is too bulky and flashy. I was already contemplating its replacement after a few weeks into usage until one fateful day I bottomed out, bending it out of commission. While it was still intact though I ended up just removing it every time while using the hitch receiver.
This hitch Silencer came with the hitch itself, but the pin that holds the door onto the assembly was missing. Contacted customer service and received one ASAP. Great great service!

After a year, everything is still working as expected! I would buy again!
Great idea, but does not work. It will not install over the uneven welds on the receiver hitch. Don’t waste your money or time buying this.

Hi AP, It is common that some hitches have a collar that is too thick to allow this to work properly. Let me see what I can do to make this right for you.
This didn't work for the factory installed hitch on my 2021 Subaru Ascent as the safety chain loops prevent it from sliding on. We can't turn it the other way as the rear bumper of the car prevents that. We did try pushing the plastic underneath out of the way but you still couldn't get it to slide straight up. Tried getting it to slide up with a rubber hammer which almost worked, but just scraped up the device to where we can't return it. Seems like it would work well, it just doesn't work on my vehicle. No fault of etrailer or DrawTite.
This cover is great. It completely prevented any rattling at the connection point. It also keeps your hitch reciver cleaner and looking sharper when you're not towing. Also prevents you from smashing up the hitch receiver, which aids in preventing any rusting. We towed a 6'x12' trailer that weighed almost 6000 lbs packed, from PA to FL with zero noise or rattling the entire trip, thanks to this cover/silencer. Great product for the money.

A year later and this Hitch SilencerCover still looks and works like new. Its been on the back of the SUV this entire time, through rain, mud, snow. Cover never pops loose on its own the magnets keep it tightly closed. It keeps the inside of the hitch reciver cleaner, and protects the outer lip from any damagedingsscratches, etc. Great product so far, especially for the money.
I purchased Item #76128 Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver and Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover Item #63080 which will be used primarily for a Yakima hitch mount bike rack on our 2017 CRV AWD Touring. The hitch and cover were well packaged and arrived in great shape. Your website, including product descriptions, videos and installation instructions were excellent and gave me the confidence that the installation would go smoothly. I was able to install the hitch receiver by myself. After lowering and securely suspending the CRV exhaust assembly I placed the hitch mounting brackets on top of the mufflers while putting a strap through the back of the hitch receiver and the CRV to hook. I was then able to use a jack to raise the hitch into place and loosely secure the bolts on the passenger side. The opposite side was a breeze. The hardest part was tightening/torqueing the bolts on the passenger side due to the cramped quarters. Your fish wires are genius! The Draw-Tite Hitch cover & silencer was very easy to install and gives the hitch a very clean appearance.
The draw tight works great. I want to return the etrailer one and get another draw tight
What a great addition to the hitch. I was leery about removing the rear bumper and associated sensor and lighting component wiring connectors but your kit for the installation was extremely complete and the videos were spot on. The receiver cover and tightening cam was made from a very sturdy material and after an easy installation, the rack was installed, the cam arm tightened down on it and you could easily forget to install the 5/8” bolt except the videos and installation instructions highlighted that you need to install it. It was so well designed to squeeze the insert to prevent any sense of looseness while driving. See photos
The product looks good but due to the way the new Draw Tite hitch fits my vehicle there is not enough space between the bumper facier and the receiver tube for this product to be installed.
I like the way it looks, and it is an extremely noticeable difference in the reduction of rattling and noise. I see what others have said about the magnets being weak, but as I normally have a drawbar or other accessory inserted into the receiver, I doubt it would bother me if that were to fail. It was very easily installed, the hardest part was inserting the plastic hinge pin and getting everything to line up properly without being to see from the top (the receiver end is under the bumper). I would buy this again and/or recommend it to others looking for an inexpensive yet stylish solution.
Well it served its purpose while I had it. My rig (class A rv) had to be towed and unfortunately at some point the rear end hit the ground and this piece bore the brunt of the contact. My only downside was my heavy blue ox hitch was more difficult to insert. I’ll probably buy another though.
Works great as a hitch cover but does not do much to tighten the hitch, keeps sliding off the rounded flange around the opening and doesn’t provide any side pressure.
Wow! What a great experience! I purchased a trailer hitch rattler silencer/stabilizer collar from etrailer.. The website was very user friendly, the pricing was very fair and reasonable and the delivery was extremely swift. I’m new to towing but not to online purchasing. etrailer is a great company to conduct business with and I KNOW I’ll be back again. Go! Buy from them now!!!
As usual, great quality and great customer service and great shipping speed! Great product—two 72 year old women installed it on the front of our motorhome before a trip to Alaska. Wish we’d taken spares with us because we could have SOLD THEM all along the way. LOL.

That's a bummer to hear about your first cover. I hope that the second one more than outlasts the first one you got, Dan.
