Question:
I have a Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2inch Item # C13152 that I installed. I recently purchased the Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover for 2inch Hitch Receivers Item # 63080. I am trying to install the silencer as directed and it will not fit over the lip of the hitch no matter how hard I try pushing it on. I dont want to risk using a hammer to tap it on unless you recommend it. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I do have a solution for you, however the collar on the receiver portion of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13152 that you mentioned is simply too large to accommodate fitment of the Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer # 63080. I went out to the warehouse to test fitment and found the same issue that you did. Because this cover is specially designed for Draw-Tite hitches, there are certain Curt hitches that it will not work with.
For a similar anti-rattle/stabilizing device, I recommend looking at the Brophy Stabilizer Bracket # RHSB. This will actually slide over the shank of your accessory (bike rack, ball mount, etc), and not the hitch receiver itself. Once mounted, you will simply tighten the screws onto the lip of the hitch to secure it into place and reduce any movement of the accessory. I have attached a short video demonstration on this product so you can see exactly how it works.
Then for a 2 inch hitch cover, you can use the Curt part # C22272.
