I‘m looking to have a bycicle hitch installed on my Acura RDX 2013. Can you help me figure out What I need and options ?

To install a hitch, for a bike rack, on your 2013 Acura RDX, I recommend the etrailer Hitch item # e24AR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Acura with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. You'll want the 2" receiver because it will give you the most options for a bike rack and a higher capacity incase you are transporting heavier e-bikes.

I really like the etrailer Hitch item # e24AR because the main crosstube mounts behind your rear bumper. This leaves only the 2" receiver exposed which not only helps with ground clearance but it also looks so much better.

I saw you were looking at a couple of bike racks. Without knowing what bike or bikes you currently have it's hard to make a recommendation for a bike rack for you but I'll break down the benefits of both and you if would like to email me back with more information on your bike's makes and models I'll be happy to make a specific recommendation. The Thule Hitching Post Pro Bike Rack item # TH934XTR will work great with this hitch. It has a 35 lbs per bike capacity which is on the lower end but if you're hauling a traditional bike or even some mountain bikes this will work great for you. It is capable of transporting up to four bikes but you can haul less then four so long as you mount them closer to your Acura not on the outside holders.

The Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack item # HLY64FR is an excellent bike rack for heavy step thru's. This bike rack has a 80 lbs per bike capacity and fits tires up to 5" wide. The padded clamps used to secure your bikes can be maneuvered to hold the bike by the frame or seat post.
