Expert Answers about Ecohitch

  • Best Hitch Recommendations for 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • For your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon the Class III hitch I would recommend is the EcoHitch part # 306-X7266 as the overall winner. It has the higher Class III towing capacities, doesn't require the stabilizer strap when carrying a bike rack like the Curt, but also because it only has the hitch opening that hangs down below the bumper so it's the least visible. It is the most expensive though so the next best option is the Draw Tite part # 75673 which is still a great hitch but it has a visible...

  • Does Installing EcoHitch in 2018 Subaru Outback Affect Back Up Sensors
  • I attached a picture of the Ecohitch part # 306-X7266 installed by us and you can see the back up sensor on the far end of the bumper. It wasn't a problem for us at all. Removing the foam wasn't an issue either. For the money though I would go with the Draw Tite part # 75673.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2019 Subaru CrossTrek
  • Yes, for the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek we have the EcoHitch part # 306-X7365 confirmed as a fit. This a 2 inch hitch that has a removable hitch opening so that when not in use no part of the hitch would be visible. The 2 inch hitch size is the most popular which means most accessories will be made to fit it and it will have great towing capacities. If for some reason you wanted the smaller 1-1/4 inch size we have the # 306-X7366 as well.

  • Benefits of Using TorkLift EcoHitch vs Draw-Tite and Curt on 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack
  • The trailer hitch options for your 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack can be seen on the linked page. The Class III TorkLift EcoHitch # 306-X7315 is the one that offers a 2-inch receiver opening, rather than the 1-1/4-inch receivers found on the Class I hitches from Draw-Tite and Curt, parts # 24949 and # C11422 Although the weight capacity of all three hitches is the same 200-lbs tongue weight and 2000-lbs towing, if you already own 2-inch accessories such as a bike rack or cargo carrier...

  • Hitch & Support Straps for Using Thule T2 Pro XTB 2 Bike Platform Rack TH9034XT on 2015 Subaru WRX
  • Thule recommends using any of their hitch bike racks, such as their T2 Pro bike rack # TH9034XT, only in those hitches that offer at least 1-1/2-inches from the receiver opening to the center of the hitch pin hole. This dimension is shown in the linked diagram. Thule's concern is that when there is less than this amount of steel between the hitch pin hole and the end of the tube the weight of the loaded rack could damage the hitch. This is a safety concern more than a concern about...

  • Will Trailer Hitch for 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon Work with Rear Bumper Sensors
  • The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7266 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit the 2018 Subaru Outback with the rear sensors on the bumper. This custom-fit hitch features a hidden cross tube and will install behind the vehicle's rear bumper, leaving only the receiver visible beneath it. This Class III hitch will provide a 2 inch receiver opening and has a 3,500 pound towing capacity. I have attached the installation details that you can also check out. If...

  • How to Mount a Bike Rack on a 2018 Tesla Model 3
  • The Curt and Draw-Tite trailer hitch receivers are often rated much higher than the vehicle is capable of handling so they are a bit misleading whereas the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7373 which is a fit for your 2018 Tesla Model 3 has a more accurate representation In order to make sure you will be safe carrying your bike rack and three bikes on the back on your Model 3 you will want to take a look in your owner's manual for the vehicle's tongue weight capacity...

  • 2018 Subaru Crosstrek Hitch Comparison Curt vs. EcoHitch
  • The Ecohitch part # 306-X7365 and the Curt hitch part # C13382 are both USA made 2 inch hitches confirmed as a fit for your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. The biggest difference is the removable lower section that the Ecohitch has which means that when you don't need the hitch you won't see it at all. The Curt does not have this so the hitch is visible at all times. Because of that the price difference is pretty large since that feature is more expensive and highly desired. The other thing to...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2018 Honda HR-V 2WD for Carrier and Scooter
  • For your 2018 Honda HR-V, I recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 306-X7322. This is the only 2 inch receiver we have compatible with your vehicle and you will need a 2 inch receiver for most carriers compatible with a scooter. This hitch will still only have a 200 lb tongue weight rating, so your 73 lb carrier and 81 lb scooter will get you to 154 lbs of your 200 lb total capacity so it will work well. Any of the 1-1/4 inch receivers would not be...

  • How Large is the Receiver Tube Opening on the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver 306-X7284
  • Yes, the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7284 does indeed have a 2" receiver tube opening contrary to how it may look in the attached photo. EcoHitch is known for making 2" trailer hitch receivers for some of the more compact cars like your 2014 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen.

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver Confirmed to Fit a 2018 Subaru Outback
  • I did reach out to Torklift and confirmed that the Ecohitch # 306-X7266 fits the 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon. If you also need a wiring harness to power a trailer's lights the Tekonsha # 118467 is a fit. This gives you a 4-way trailer connector at the rear of the Outback. You'll also need a ball mount and hitch ball. I've attached a link of our selection of ball mounts for a 2 inch hitch receiver as well as an article to help you determine the correct rise or drop you may need. Once...

  • Comparing the Curt # C13206 and the EcoHitch # 306-X7266 for a 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • I take it that you are debating over the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13206 and the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7266 for your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon because the Curt is rated for a higher weight capacity but the EcoHitch has a cleaner look. The thing that you need to remember is that when using your vehicle to tow or carry anything you always have to check the weight of the equipment you are using (trailer hitch) AND the weight rating for your vehicle. Whichever...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Subaru Crosstrek for Bike Rack
  • Whenever available I like to recommend a 2 inch hitch as they are the most common and rated the best. This means that there will be more bike racks made for it and they will be easily carried. For your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek I really like the EcoHitch part # 306-X7365 as it is a 2 inch hitch that can have the hitch tube remove when not needed so that there would be not hitch visible when you don't need it. I realize this is a pretty expensive option, so we do have the Draw Tite part #...

  • What Curt Trailer Hitches Fit a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek
  • Both the Curt trailer hitches # C12184 and # C13382 are confirmed to fit your 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. I recommend going with the latter part # C13382 as it is a Class III trailer hitch with a 2" receiver. This will allow you to use a wider variety of accessories. I have attached an installation video of this hitch on a 2018 Crosstrek for you to reference. If you let me know what you plan on using the trailer hitch for I can make additional recommendations if necessary.

  • EcoHitch and Recommended Bike Rack for a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek
  • We do have both a 1-1/4" EcoHitch # 306-X7366 and a 2" EcoHitch # 306-X7365 that are confirmed to fit your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. Out of both options I recommend going with the 2" receiver as it allows you to use a wider variety of accessories like a bike rack. I have attached an installation video that you can check out. The installation is identical for both trailer hitches so it is a good reference no matter which way you go. If you don't already have a bike rack then I highly...

  • Best Looking Trailer Hitch for a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek
  • The best looking trailer hitch that fits your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek is the EcoHitch, part # 306-X7365. The cross tube is concealed behind the rear bumper and the receiver tube is visible underneath. Additionally, the receiver tube can be removed when you're not using it so nothing is visible at all. With that being said this might be a little fancier than what you're looking for. And by "fancier" I mean expensive. The next best looking option is the Curt, part # C13382. It still...

  • Concealed and Visible Trailer Hitch Options for 2018 Subaru Crosstrek
  • For your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek we offer several hitch options, all shown on the linked page, that include both 1-1/4-inch Class II and 2-inch Class III types. We generally always recommend the 2-inch option when it is available since these hitches typically offer a higher weight capacity for towing and much broader compatibility with the range of available accessory items like bike racks and cargo baskets. Also among the hitch options are products that have a completely hidden crosstube,...

  • Hitch, Wiring Harness and Towing Mirrors for 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • Thank you for coming back to etrailer for a hitch and wiring for your new Subaru Outback Wagon! The hitch I recommend for your new Outback is our own USA-made 2-inch model # e98847. I like this option for its value and easier installation. The hitch you referenced in your question, EcoHitch # 306-X7601, costs more and will be much tougher to install. • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver to Fit a 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon
  • I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "direct fit" because all three of the Class III trailer hitch receivers we carry for your 2014 Subaru Outback are custom made and designed for your vehicle. The hitch that has the most factory-like look is the Ecohitch, part # 306-X7162. Once installed all you see is the open receiver tube under the rear bumper of your Subaru. Take a look at the picture I attached. The downside to this hitch is the install requries the bumper to be temporarily...

  • Is Foam Piece Crucial to Replace for Install of the EcoHitch # 306-X7266 on a 2018 Outback wagon
  • There could be a slight design change with the fascia on your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon as opposed to a 2017 model. I would say that if you can get everything to fit properly when installing the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7266 then you are good to go.
