Air is pushed through your ducts, and some air distribution boxes include a vent you can open or close to send more air through the ducting. Close the vent to force more airflow into the ducts. Make sure your RV actually has ducting and select a ducted ADB to match.
Install can be straightforward, but rooftop units can be close to 80 lbs, so have help lifting. Follow the instructions and use the specified torque on the retaining bolts to avoid stripping threads. After install, test cooling performance and airflow through your ducts to confirm proper operation.
Plan on a new air distribution box when upgrading older systems due to the switch to R-32 refrigerant; anything made before 2025 isn't compatible. Confirm you have a ducted system and match the AC to a ducted ADB. If you use a furnace, keep or add a compatible thermostat for the furnace while the AC runs from the ADB or remote.
