Trailer is my go-to site for anything related to my RV and towing. Customer support is always outstanding with knowledgeable staff. I originally ordered this through the manufacturer. They randomly chose me for a security check that lasted 3 weeks. After they confirmed I was me they said my card was rejected and I had to start my order over again. I did just that with etrailer and got a better price.
It should be noted that I am a full timer so my billing and shipping addresses are never the same. However, I have not experienced that problem with trailer. Maybe because etailer understands most people don't use their RV at home so they don't always need parts at home. Go figure.
The Furrion is a good product. My old AC was putting out air at 51 degrees. The new Furrion is putting out air at 38 degrees. I don't hear much mechanical noise with the Furrion but the sound of the air flow is just as loud. This is due to ducting, not the unit. So don't expect a much quiteter AC system. Also, since you are using your old Coleman controller make sure you write down your old model and serial number incase your controller ever goes bad.
One final thing. My old AC units were Airxcell. I could not find any reference from Furrion if this unit replaces Airxcell. It does as Airxcell is part of Coleman. Therefore, I purchased one unit to ensure it would work and then bought the second one.

Products work well. Etailer service is always exceptional. I think its great they ask for a 1 year review.

@Robert Thanks again for sharing your feedback — hearing how the product holds up after a year really helps us understand the full picture. Do you have everything else geared up for some summer fun?

by:

It does not replace a Dometic Blizzard NXT. The wiring harness is a 6 pin on the Furrion. Dometic did not start using 6 or 9 pin until last few years. This is not compatible with pre 2021 Dometic wiring.

by:

Excellent product. Easy installation with the conversion kit! My camper is already cooling better than it ever has in the past. Kelly was the best customer service representative!

Seems to be working fine. I also bought a heat strip but have not installed it yet.

Aside from the very soft plastic cover the system does work well. Currently draws less than 14amps full on. The old Coleman Mach mounting frame did not work. However, the Mach 8 does fit (specifically the Coleman-Mach Lateral Ducted ChillGrille Ceiling Assembly 8430A6321). Highly recommend the ducted kit. Currently using the existing Coleman Control Boxes and Thermostats.

As with any engineering based on Chinese products, getting straight information and answers is a challenge. Case in point was the parallel connection between the front and rear thermostat controllers. There needs to be one master and one slave set. This doesnt exist. The blue thermostat screen light is useless and does more harm than good. Had to replace all the plastic AC shell guides with aluminum pins epoxied in place for the upper and lower clam shell covers. integrated the heater strips. The heat section must be set to H and not F for furnace. I kept the original Coleman ThermostatFurnace control separate from the Furrion system. This was a good move on my part. Had to go back into the inside mount to reseal the divider and cables with low expanding foam. This also helped with the cabling. Recommended. Re torqued the unit mounting boltshardware. Yes, they come loose over time. To date, I am able to run both units at the same time using a single 50A service 240VAC leg. Finally, I used a Coleman 1976A658-3-15 ChillGrill inside for air flow distribution. Much better than the Furrion grille. Bottom line is that I am glad to make the switch. However, there was a lot of overhead and outdated documentation digest to get it to work correctly. 4 stars or a more realistic 3.5 stars.

@John I am glad the switch was nice for you. I am sorry to hear about some of the frustration with parts. I am glad you got it worked out though. What kind of trailer do you have the unit on?

by:

This unit arrived well packed, no problems with shipping damage.
Works much better than the old coleman 13500 unit we had.
Will actually get down to temperature and turn of, old unit never turned off.
adapter kit for coleman unit , holes did not line up with existing ceiling vent.
Had to screw spacers to four corners in roof opening to attach air conditioner.
The wiring harness worked fine, plug and play. Over all very happy

Still works great after a year

by:

Got it and the cover was broken on the ac unit. Call and they said they would ship a new cover with a week. They said I needed a new thermostat for that ac unit. Order one and did not need one. Sending it back for a refund. Ac unit is working great, just need a new cover.

by:

Very easy to install, connected right into my existing control unit The new units blows more air and cools down the RV much faster

by:

Product fit exactly as shown, installation was easy and the AC unit runs great with no issues !

by:

Working great so far, compared to the GE that came on my trailer.
The hardest part is getting it on the top of your trailer. It'll take two or three people for that part. Other than that, hook up was pretty straight forward.
I had watched the etrailer and a couple other YouTube videos before attempting it.

by:

Great turnaround time on delivery, quality products at a reasonable price! The furrion acs worked to replace 2 Coleman acs . Easy!!!

by:

It is a good unit and works well. It was very easy to replace existing unit with adapter cable and mounting hardware.

by:

All the employees are great here. Always have what I need and always helpful .

by:

Arrived faster than originally expected and showed up perfect. Installation was a breeze.

by:

It was easy to swap out and install, we have a forklift so we didn’t have to lift it up a ladder
The unit came quickly and was in great shape, however the junction box was no attached to the unit, so I had to grab a couple screws and attach it see pictures , the unit is running nice and quiet and dropping the temperature , so far so good! It would be nice if it had an owners manual or some type of directions shipped with it

by:

The unit arrived sooner than expected. I love the exterior design. Install of the unit was easy. I ordered the adapter kit to work with my existing coleman power box.
If you purchase the LED air distribution panel, I recommend replacing the coleman power box and ordering the furrion thermostat that is needed to power the LED lights. If you purchase the air panel without the LED light, you can keep your coleman power box and existing thermostat.
The furrion unit cools the living room, bedroom and bathroom faster, the air "out" is colder than the coleman mach unit. I had to replace the brand new coleman mach unit with the furrion since the company we purchased the trailer new from refused to replace the defective ac unit. Money well spent and I will replace the second ac unit with a furrion soon.

  • Replacement For Dometic Brisk II on 2012 CrossRoads Elevation
Hi Adam; for a plug and play replacement that is compatible with your Dometic setup I recommend the Furrion Chill HE. • Does Furrion RV AC Unit for Coleman Allow Use of Dometic Ducts
The wiring of the Furrion # FR32PV allows it to be controlled by the thermostat controls you have already so you would not need to use a Furrion thermostat. This unit was designed to be used with ducted ceilings like you have so it would work great in that regard as well.

For your application I recommend picking up a Furrion Chill HE air conditioner because they come with wiring adapters to fit with your current Coleman wiring and have proven to be the most reliable. I'm not sure what the Btu rating or color is for your current AC, so here is a list of the Furrion ones that will work: White - 13.5K Btu # FR82PV - 15K Btu # FR42PV Black - 13.5K Btu # FR62PV - 15K Btu # FR32PV

Hey Joe, We can definitely set you up with a replacement for your Dometic air conditioner with one that doesn't require modification. I recommend a Furrion unit because of its built-in start capacitor that stores power for the AC to ensure it always turns on, and its dual motors for a more powerful unit than the standard single motor set ups. The Furrion is a 15,000 Btu unit and is even compatible with your current distribution box and will work with your ducted system. You can even...
