Stepping in and out feels natural with 3 steps when your entry height makes a two-step set too tall. Measure your door frame width and the entry height to choose the right fit, and note that rise options like 8" or 9" change the distance between steps. If you want extra stability, consider ground-contact designs that steady the RV and reduce flex.
Installation can be straightforward and may bolt in place of existing steps. Have a helper—the assembly can be heavy while you start the first bolts. Use included spacers if needed, and check door-frame clearance; a tight lip can keep steps from folding fully. In some setups, the supplied fish wire may be short, so have extra wire on hand.
Rise is the distance between steps. Choose it to match your entry height so the steps land comfortably. Entry height is measured from the top of the doorway threshold to the ground. Some 3-step options fit 23-3/4 - 26-1/4 door frames with entry heights like 30 - 33-1/2 or 34 - 36 depending on rise.
