Video Transcript for Review of Blue Ox Replacement 1000 lbs TW SwayPro Spring Bars - BXW4007

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at these Blue Ox replacement spring bars for your SwayPro weight distribution system. Now, this kit is going to include the two spring bars, lift chains, and necessary hardware needed to replace your SwayPro spring bars. Now, one of the really nice things about the SwayPro system is that you can simply switch out your spring bars. So, if you get a lighter trailer or a heavier trailer, makes sure that your ride is gonna be nice and smooth.

You can simply switch out the spring bars so that it's got the right weight capacity for you, rather than having to get a whole new system. So, we do have lots of different spring bar sets that will range from a tongue weight of 200 pounds up to a tongue weight of 2000 pounds. So, you just need to make sure that you're getting the right set for your setup's tongue weight. The bars do all look very similar. They are going to have slight thickness differences, but the easiest way to tell which bar set you have, they use a dot system.

So, the 350 pound bars are not gonna have a dot. Your 550 pound max tongue weight is gonna have one dot, like we have here. So, these are our 550 pound max tongue weight. But then on that list there, you can see those dots on the right side. So, it goes up to five dots for your 2000 pound tongue weight rating.

So, just make sure you're getting the right one for your setup so that it's not gonna be too rigid and it's going to engage properly for you. All these sets are going to work with both your older locking-pin style pivot tubes. So, they've got the divot there on the top, so your locking pin will grab onto that to secure these into your head unit. And they are also going to work with your newer style through-pin style locking tube so that you can get that pin passed all the way through there to secure that. So whether you have the older style or the newer, this will work great for you.

These are made here in the USA, so you can trust they're made to the high quality standards we've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the US, but more than that, because they are a Blue Ox product, you can trust they are gonna fit right into your SwayPro system, and you're not gonna have any issues with it. It's just going to accommodate for either replacing the spring bars that you already have or adjusting your setup for that different tongue weight. So, that completes our look for today, again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

Heavier bars for a heavier trailer. Just right. Customer service with etrailer is wonderful!

by:

We purchased a bigger trailer and needed the more heavy-duty bars for our Blue Ox. Our order was promptly received and has worked well. We are happy with this purchase.

by:

On time delivery but have not actually used spring bars yet.

by:

I have been using the original Blue Ox Sway Pro since 2011. It was a different design that used heavy round spring bars. Over time they bent so I wanted to replace them. Turned out that the modern (flat) spring bars will not quite fit into the old head, so I decided to buy the newer head. I was told by trailer that the part that is connected to the trailer A frame (the latch) would accept the chains on these new spring bars. Not so. The new bars angle down at a much steeper angle and made it impossible to use my old latches. So I had to buy them with a separate order. After all was said and done, I am happy with the new modern hitch...but I would add that it's really no better than the original.

by:

Order arrived as promised and will be put to work next week. Thank you for doing what you said, doesn't always worout that way.

by:

Love the Blue Ox Sway Pro system! I only need to replace the spring bars for my new, heavier trailer.

I put .10,000 miles on the new bars with the heavier trailer this year...not a single issue..tows like a dream!

For the F-150, Ford recommends load distribution bars for all trailer towing 5000 lbs and over. I purchased the Blue Ox Weight distribution System as was recommended by etrailer. I ordered two sets of bars, a1000# set for loads under 5000#s and a 1500# set for when my trailer is loaded to the max which is 12,000#. I am now able to dial in the exact combination needed to keep my truck level and tracking true no mater how my trailer is loaded. I can now easily tow light and heavy loads at 65MPH with out the fear of excessive sway. Thank you etrailer for solving my trailer sway problems.

I am still very impressed with this trailer hitch set up. I now have a 2018 Ford Raptor . Ford has reduced the towing capabilities of this 450 hp truck to only 8000 because of the extra soft suspension set up. I can still tow 7500 at 65 mph with out fear of sway problems.

Blue Ox is the BEST weight distribution and anti-sway system on earth. Much easier and smoother than others. Bought a heavier trailer and got heavier bars. Plug and play. Highly recommend also buying a tongue scale as all my buddies use mine now and everyone has been surprised how much heavier their tongue weight is compared to what they thought.

Still awesome! No issues and my buddies who saved money on cheaper systems are figuring out they should have bought the Blue Ox. No problem reversing, change bars for different trailer weights, easier daily use, and better sway control. Very happy with this purchase.

by:

E-Trailer was very quick to deliver the new 1000 lb spring bars and they were exactly as advertised. I have used them several times and my trailer sway has been reduced to a manageable level.

The spring bars work wonderfully and i really appreciate how easy E-Trailer made it for me to get exactly what i needed for a safer trip

by:

The sway bars arrived well packaged with no damage. I was able to use and test the bars when I picked up my new trailer and towed approximately 350 miles back home. The bars performed as Blue Ox advertised. etrailer has always been attentive to you and the product purchased. The staff is professional and knowledgeable. I have purchased other products from etrailer with the same excellent service.
I am a repeat customer.

by:

Great system. Huge difference in towing. etrailer delivered earlier then promised. Appreciate the great price and customer service.

by:

Received my 1000 lbs replacement Blue Ox spring bars in a reasonable amount of time. The bars did the trick for the larger travel trailer I recently purchased. I'm pleased with the quality of service and product.

by:

Not much can be said about a couple of spring bars. i needed heavier bars because I changed to a trailer with a heavier tongue weight. The eTrailer price was excellent with fast and free shipping. Very happy with their web site and service.

by:

I just received the order for the 1000 lbs Blue Ox bars. I'm currently running 750 lbs bars, but have weighed my camper and it's over. I received them quickly and no crushed boxes.

Probably a couple of weeks before I get to try them out.

by:

We had 750lb bars but our tongue weight exceeded that weight so I bought the 1000lb bars and now they transferred the weight needed to the steering axles and the truck performs much better.

After doing some research I discovered that my weight bars were potentially too heavy(heaver is not always better) so I ordered these lower weight bars to be more in the proper weight range. I'm hoping this will improve my control even more.
also,very efficient,fast shipping and communication!!!
Thank You

by:

Exactly what I needed and got it on time.. Thanks etrailer.

Ive been on numerous camping trips with the new bars, and they have worked perfectly every time. Thank you!

by:

Genuine Blue Ox replacement parts. Everything exactly as expected with prompt delivery. Thank you!

by:

The first set of bars had quality issues. There must have been contamination on the metal prior to applying the protective coating. Someone needs to do final inspection. The replacement ones work as advertised. First time setup took a little while but each hookup there after should be a breeze. What a difference pulling 6,000 lbs with the Sway-Pro.

by:

God availability and fast free delivery.
Accurate replacement parts.
Very satisfied. Taylor, the CSRep, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

by:

Old bars were found to be too light , etrailer had these, and got them to me fast .. and cheaper than the competetor.

Just what we were looking for.

  • Will Heavier Spring Bars Decrease Trailer Porpoising
If the trailer does not have enough weight on the tongue relative to the weight of the trailer (ideally between 10-15%) then you can experience issues with porpoising. A weight distribution system will generally fix most porpoising issues as it helps better distribute the load more evenly but if the springs bars are too weak they can flex more and give in to porpoising. The best solution would be to rearrange weight on the trailer but stiffer springs bars would also help to alleviate some...

  • Do Nuts of Spring Bar U-Bolts on Blue Ox Sway Pro Need Torque
Due to the spring tension of the spring bars pulling hard on the nuts of the u-bolts you would not have to worry about torqueing them down. As long as the nuts are threaded on they won't go anywhere. Hand tight would be all that's needed.

  • Should Blue Ox Two Dimple Spring Bars Be Upgraded for Towing Grand Designs Transcend 297QB
From what I have found, the 749 lbs on your Grand Designs Transcend 297QB is the dry tongue weight. Since you will have propane and other cargo in the trailer that will definitely be over the 750 lb maximum for your current spring bars. Also, any cargo behind the rear axle of your 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 will be considered tongue weight as well. Since you will be over 750 lbs that means that the spring bars for your current setup won't be effective. You will want to add the Replacement...

  • Replacement Blue Ox Sway Pro Spring Bars for Trailer Tongue Weight
Using spring bars that are rated for a higher capacity can lead to a rigid trailer ride. An over-rated weight rating on your spring bars can even cause bounce leading to traction issues with the trailer. • 1,000 lb Blue Ox SwayPro Replacement Spring Bars to Upgrade From 750 lb Bars
That's an excellent question, and the way weight distribution hitches work in regards to rating is that you need to take into account your total tongue weight, which is the tongue weight of your fully loaded trailer, plus the weight of any cargo that is behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. So the 100 lbs of gear in your truck bed will absolutely be a factor, and you will want to upgrade from the 750 lb Blue Ox SwayPro spring bars to the 1,000 lb rated bars, which are the following...
