Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights.
Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.
Each Curt circuit board is made using high-quality components that are pieced together in the most technologically savvy fashion, leading to greater predictability and reliability in functioning.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this CURT T-Connector vehicle wiring harness with four-pole flat trailer connector. Now this harness has been designed to fit your 2025 and newer Hyundai Tucson. And on custom fit parts, such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com. Simply input the year, make and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will confirm if this harness will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you.
Now this harness is going to let you add this four-way flat trailer connector. And the T-connectors that you see here, they're going to plug into your existing wiring. So what's nice about this harness is no cutting is required, no splicing is needed. And as you know, a well-lit trailer is a safe trailer. So this four-way wiring harness is gonna keep your trailer's brake lights, turn signals, and running lights powered and in sync with your vehicle.
So whether you're hauling a boat to the lake or a camper to the mountains, your lights are gonna stay bright and visible. Now, plugging in your trailer shouldn't mean tearing into your vehicle's wiring. So these custom fit T-connectors are going to snap directly into your factory wiring harness. So you're gonna be able to get your trailer lights up and running without, again, cutting or splicing. You're just gonna plug these in and you're gonna be ready to go.
Now the vehicle's wiring harness is often behind a trim panel or under the cargo floor. Some vehicles may require removing interior panels or lifting carpeted sections to reach it, but once accessed, the harness is going to install easily, with quick, these connectors. Instructions are included to guide you through that installation process. Some vehicles can't handle the extra electrical load of trailer lights, so the built-in power converter on this harness that you see right here, this is going to draw power directly from the vehicle's battery. And so that's going to ensure a steady, protected current to your trailer, while keeping your vehicle circuits from overloading.
Now, towing means exposing your wiring to dirt, rain, and road grime. This harness features fully insulated wires, a sealed converter. That's all gonna work together to help prevent shorts and corrosion. This is built to withstand the elements so you can tow with confidence in any weather. And no extra trips to the hardware store are gonna be needed because this kit does come with everything that you need, with the fuse, cable ties, and connectors included. So you're gonna be able to complete the installation without needing to hunt down extra hardware. And, again, instructions are gonna be included. Now it is also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all of your electrical components, like the plugs on the vehicle end, and the four-pole flat connector itself. That grease is designed to help prevent electrical failures caused by corrosion and moisture. So on your screen, I am including our item number for that grease. You can take that number, pop it in the search field of our website, that will take you to that grease, and you can add that to your order. If you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about this harness or anything else that we carry, don't hesitate to reach out. We wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
It is a great product and fits as advertised. It is also difficult to install as asvertised. I recommend that if you do not have the proper tools to install have someone do it. I was fortunate to have tools but it was considerably more difficult than I expected. It is a good product.
I ordered this product with the understanding it would be delivered on a Monday. I was trying to tow some of my Mom's belonging to my home in Silver City. It didn't arrive for another week. I am in New Mexico and the wiring harness is still in General Delivery, Elk City. Oklahoma. I spoke to the the guy who took the order and he has done nothing. I am out the wiring harness money.
