Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights.
Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.
Each Curt circuit board is made using high-quality components that are pieced together in the most technologically savvy fashion, leading to greater predictability and reliability in functioning.

I ordered this product with the understanding it would be delivered on a Monday. I was trying to tow some of my Mom's belonging to my home in Silver City. It didn't arrive for another week. I am in New Mexico and the wiring harness is still in General Delivery, Elk City. Oklahoma. I spoke to the the guy who took the order and he has done nothing. I am out the wiring harness money.

The directions are not correct and written horribly. Need to have strip by step video and warning you you need to disassemble other parts of your vehicle to get to the connectors for the turn signals. I would never have bought this had i known.

I'm sorry that happened Chris. As soon as we get a 4th Gen Tucson through our facility, we'll shoot at post a video. That won't help you much at this point unfortunately, but hopefully it'll help others going forward.
Works great
A little hard to install but good to not have to splice
It was ad advertised, but should not have ordered. As I placed the order it showed as a desirble add to it. Anyhow, after receiving and reviewing, it is not needed, so am returning it.
Kevin was excellent rep, very knowledgeable and very professional. He is definitely an asset to the company. Thank you.
It is a great product and fits as advertised. It is also difficult to install as asvertised. I recommend that if you do not have the proper tools to install have someone do it. I was fortunate to have tools but it was considerably more difficult than I expected. It is a good product.
The received directions said the install was difficult. Had I known that I would not have purchased this product. But...I did install the wiring harness with much difficulty as stated in the product instructions.
The hitch was sized, shaped and drilled to perfection. We had to clean out one pre-tapped hole on the car frame. Very happy to that point.
The car s a 2026 Tucson Hyundai, new in February. The plastic splash shield removal was easy enough, but putting it back? could have used some guidance on how to cut/shape. We'have to drop the hitch and try to fit that plastic shield onto the car's underbody, then re-raise and tighten the hitch.
Also, threading the wire from under the hood to the rear tail light is yet to be determined.
Any new videos or how-to-sources would be most welcome.
Thank you in advance.
Install is relatively straightforward. I wanted to keep the control unit inside the vehicle so I had to cut all the wires and fish them up through the wire loom seals. I also didn’t want to run a power wire all the way from the front of the vehicle to the back so I chose to use a 12V cigarette later and plug it into the connector in the rear of the vehicle. The hardest part of the whole job is getting to the turn signal connectors.
