Now folks, again, this is one, quantity one, RQL Arm Bearing Half. That's gonna install over the pivot tube and create half of the axle in which the ratchet arm turns. Now this again is for the Thule Sidearm Roof-Mounted Bike Carrier.
That carrier is sold separately as item number TH594, and, again, this is just half. If you need the whole thing, make sure you're getting the right quantity and the appropriate parts. This part replaces 1 bearing half for your Thule Sidearm roof-mounted bike rack. The RQL bearing half provides the axle on which the ratchet arm turns.I purchased 4 RQL bearing halves for my Thule 916 T2 rack to keep the arms from rocking. I was surprised to find that the surfaces of the bearing clamp and arm, which surround the bearing halves, have a lot of wear due to friction.
The bearing halves do control the arm movement quite a bit and I am happy for that but feel that as some of the metal surrounding the new parts has worn they may not last as long as they could. I sprayed new parts and metal surfaces with Teflon spray to control more wear.
I still think this is the strongest hitch rack on the market.

Everything is fine. I used my experience working at a sporting goods store to decide on purchasing the Thule 619 T2 rack and like that parts are available to maintain it. Its not as tight as when new but neither am I.
