You're halfway up the ramps, loading solo, trying to keep the vehicle steady without risking rollback. This 10,000 lb 12V winch pulls smooth and holds position with a gearbox brake, so you can stop, adjust, and finish without losing ground.
Undersized winches stall when the load shifts or the incline increases, leaving you stuck mid-pull with no real recovery. Rated for 10,000 lbs on a 12V system, this winch gives you the margin to keep moving through resistance, uneven ground, and incline without losing momentum. Pair it with a snatch block or rigging kit when the pull gets heavier or the angle works against you.
Stopping mid-pull on a ramp or slope means trusting your brake completely, because if it slips, the load moves whether you're ready or not. The gearbox-mounted brake holds through the geartrain instead of the drum, keeping tension locked when you stop so you can adjust safely without rollback. You can pause mid-pull, adjust your position, and continue without the load creeping backward.
External contactors take up space, add wiring, and create more points that can fail over time. This winch uses a built-in Albright contactor with integrated motor control, eliminating the extra box. Fewer components mean a tighter install, fewer connection points to deal with, and more long-term reliability. A receiver-mounted winch plate or dedicated wiring kit can simplify setup on vehicles that aren't prepped for a permanent install.
Jerky or delayed response makes fine adjustments frustrating, and easy to overshoot. Integrated motor control delivers smoother, more predictable power, so you can line up cleanly on ramps or tight approaches without constant correction.
Working alone means you're constantly shifting position to check alignment, clearance, and load movement. With both wired and wireless remotes, you're not locked in one place. You can finish the pull in one controlled run without fighting it the whole way.

Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Let's take a look at the ARB compact off-road winch, with synthetic rope, rated at 10,000-pounds capacity. So folks, this is the kind of gear you're gonna carry for one reason. When things go wrong, you need it to work, right So this is a 10,000-pound-rated, 12-volt winch, and this is gonna go right in that sweet spot for most trucks, SUVs, and overland rigs. Now one of the biggest advantages here is that it's compact, it's a space-saving design, you can see it's low-profile, and basically long body here. And everything's built into this one single unit as far as the control box, so that's gonna mean a cleaner install, less clutter, easier fitment in those tight areas, in the bumpers.
Especially in today's modern vehicles, you've got lots of sensors, you really have limited space. So when you're off-road, durability is gonna matter just as much as that power. And this is built with a sealed IP68 rated housing, and that just means it's gonna be protected against water, dust, mud, harsh environments and those kind of things. So whether you're in deep mud, you're crossing the creeks, the rivers, heavy rain, snow, this is designed to keep performing even in all those rough and tough conditions. Now, back from the back, I know everything here is beautiful black finish, this is a wireless receiver, it looks like, it's what it says on here.
And then you have your connections back here coming off of that motor. And then you've got a lot of different connections for the remotes and everything that come with the wire protectors already installed. You got your main wire there, you got some protective caps. You got the power isolator switch, so whenever you're not using the winch, you can cut the power off to it, thus protecting other things as well in case of accidental feedbacks or whatnot. And then you've got some other cables here, and a lot of different smaller brackets here that have put 'em aside with their hardware that have, again, that nice powder coat cover and finish.
Now another thing about this is, it does not use cable, it uses a synthetic rope. Now, compared to traditional steel cable, the synthetic rope's gonna be lighter, easier to handle, it's safer under loads, it's less prone to kinks, sharp things over time and those kind of things that you get with cable. And it also helps reduce the weight immensely on the unit. So this unit weighs about 73 pounds, and if you had steel cable in there, you could easily add about five or 10 pounds. And all that little bit with weight actually does add up quickly, and in time it makes a big difference.
So you get your free spool function over here as well. Now, I talked about the remote a little bit earlier as far as the wireless receiver and stuff. And you have the remote here, it does have kind of curves in the back, so it's really ergonomic friendly on the hands. Again, you have a wired and wireless option with this. You can pair this remote, and then it can get charged while it's plugged in and everything, which is very nice as well. And I like having wireless, because it does give you that flexibility depending on your recovery situation if you need to get farther away for whatever reason, those kind of things. And then of course, you got the nice hook here in the front. Very nice smooth spring action here. (hook clacking) And again folks, everything here, nice, compact. I got about 22 15/16" inches long, 7" and 7/8" tall, and about 8 3/16" inches wide at the widest point. So like I mentioned before, compact, lighter weight for most winches out there, this is gonna be a great option for you, the ARB compact off-road with synthetic rope winch rated at 10,000 pounds. I'm Steve with etrailer. Thanks for watching, and have a great day.
