According to Curt the Item # C13284 hitch you were looking at stopped fitting the CX-9's after the 2022 model year. The correct hitch for your 2023 Mazda CX-9 is the Draw-Tite item # 76020. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Mazda with included hardware.

This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 4,500 lbs towing capacity and a 675 lbs maximum tongue weight. This hitch can be used with weight distribution systems but that will not increase its capacity.

If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # 118278 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.

To attach a 4-way wiring harness to the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver item # 76020 you will want to use the Mounting Bracket for 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # BK4F. This bracket will attach to the pre drilled tab on the Draw-Tite hitch. None of the 4-way wiring harnesses for any vehicle include this bracket.
