The 2013 Ford Escape wiring you need to activate your trailer lights is the Curt T-Connector # C56335. This tees in behind your tail lights and then draws power directly from your vehicle battery via the lead wire (see attached install video).
I also recommend picking up the mounting brackets # BK4F and # 18140 so your connector is readily accessible when you need it!
