Note: When servicing your truck with Air Lift air springs installed, if the truck is lifted by the frame, the air must be let out of the springs. And if the rear of the truck is lifted during service, then it must be supported by jack stands to avoid damage to the air springs.

Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 was designed with an exact purpose: to provide full-time, first-class support to your 1/2-ton, 3/4-ton, or 1-ton pickup, motor home, or commercial truck. With this kit, you get a safer ride and simultaneously protect your vehicle from the strain that comes with hauling massive loads.

Carrying heavy cargo in your truck bed or trailer puts tremendous stress on your vehicle. Your brakes erode faster, your tires wear unevenly, and handling suffers severely. When towing, you might also experience excessive sway, bottoming out, and even improper and unsafe headlight aim. Fortunately, there is a solution to these problems. By pairing your existing suspension with the LoadLifter 5000, you can seriously beef up your suspension, ensure equal load distribution, and give your vehicle the support it desperately needs. Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 provides up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity and distributes the weight of your payload to all 4 wheels. As a result, the stress on your OEM suspension is significantly reduced.

LoadLifter's air bags are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi for precise support, and they can be inflated independently of one another for front-to-rear and side-to-side leveling. They are made of high-quality, 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber. Most air bags lose air at the ends, where the bag is enclosed with a steel cap, because the steel can rust and corrode over time, creating small holes. The endcaps on Air Lift air bags are fashioned from corrosion-proof Zytel nylon, a material that is both stronger and lighter than steel, ensuring that the air bags won't lose air. Also, LoadLifter 5000 comes with Air Lift's exclusive roll plates, which both protect your air springs and beef up the load capacity of the springs.

This system installs with the included brackets and hardware. Just mount the springs, inflate them, and ride. To inflate the LoadLifter springs, you just have to pump air in through the inflation valves. A line kit is included with the springs so that you can install the valves (one for each spring) in an easily accessible area - typically they are installed on the bumper. If you want to make the springs even easier to use, you can get a compressor and gauge system (sold separately).

Air Lift kits are designed to keep your vehicle at normal ride height. You can find the normal ride height of your vehicle by unloading it and measuring the distance between the bottom edge of your wheel well and the center of the hub. After you find and record this distance, you can regulate the amount of air that you put into your air springs to maintain normal ride height - even when you are hauling a heavy load. You will need to adjust the air pressure in your air bags according to the size of your load.

Along with a lifetime warranty that has no mileage restrictions, Air Lift offers a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Just install and use LoadLifter 5000 springs for 60 days, and if you are not satisfied at the end of this time, you can remove them from your vehicle and return them for a full product refund. Now that's confidence.

Video Transcript for Air Lift LoadLifter Air Helper Springs Installation - 2013 Ram 1500

Today in our 2013 RAM 1500 we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs, part number AL57365. We're going to go ahead and take some measurements of the vehicle at stock right height. The rear of about 40 and 1/2 and the front we're at about 37 and 1/4. We're going to go ahead and put about 1,400 pounds in the back and we'll get some measurements there before we put our airbags into place. We've loaded our vehicle down to about 36 and 1/2 in the rear and about 37 and 3/4, it came up, in the front. Now with our load back in there at about 25 pounds of air in our bags, we're back at 40 and 1/4, right about 1/4 of an inch of where we started from when there was nothing in the truck to start with. We're at 37 and 1/2 and we started from stock at 37 and 1/4, so we came up about 1/4 in the front.

Now we'll go ahead and try it out and see how it does in our test course. We're going to go over some speed bumps to see the up and down action. You'll notice that the body's going to pitch back and forth as it hits each speed bump and it's going to get some roll to it. You can see how much better our suspension reacts with our air bags inflated. To begin our install, we've gone ahead and removed our spare tire for some extra room under there. We're going to need to have our suspension hanging, so we're going to go ahead and raise it up on the left, we're going to take off both of our rear tires using a 22mm socket. Now we're going to support our axle with a Jack stand and we're going to take both of our rear shocks loose using a 21mm wrench and socket.

We'll take a little bit of load off the rear suspension, we'll be able to slide out the bolts. Now while we still have it under the load, we'll go ahead and take a paint marker and we're going to mark our spring so we can line it up because we're going to have to remove both of our rear springs. We're going to put some witness mark so we know where they came from. We can go ahead and lower down our rear axle. Once we have the weight off our suspension, we can simply push upon the spring and we'll slip it down and we'll set it aside making sure to keep them on the proper sides. Now that we have our springs out of the way, we're going to remove our down inaudible 00:02:50 here.

Just give it a little twist and it will pop out. We're also going to either remove this whole cup here so we just have it to this flat part for our new bracket to fit onto. There's a weld on the frontside here and there's on on the backside, so we're going to take a grinder and grind away a little bit and then we can take a inaudible 00:03:11, get it loose and we'll pry it down off there. As you can see there was two welds, just on two sides. You just cut them or grind them, whatever tool you have to remove it with. We're going to take our grinder and grind that surface flat so our bracket will fit in there nice.

Once you have a nice flat surface, go ahead and take some black paint and cover up all of our bare metal. Just want to protect it from having any rust or corrosion built up on there. We're going to take an upper frame bracket. You want this flange with the two bolt holes pointing to the upside and take this supplied Allen bolt, we'll push it through and from the backside we're going to put a nylon lock nut on there and we'll snug that down. We're just going to run this down till it's just a little snug. We're going to have to move it back and forth to line it up to our frame, then once we have it set in position we can tighten it back up all the way. We'll take our bracket with the flange side to the outside, we're going to set it up into place in that preexisting hole in the frame. We're going to tap over till it's flat and we want to mark this hole with 1/4 inch drill bit, we're going to go ahead and mark it out. Then we'll take it back down and go ahead and drill out this hole to 1/4 inch. We'll take our self-starting bolts, just tap itself in so we're going to take it and start it up in that 1/4 inch hole we started. We want to run it up just to make our threads in place. Now we can test fit our bracket to make sure the hole's going to line up. When we have it lined up, we'll go ahead and snug that bolt up. Place our bracket back up into place and get it lined up and go ahead and snug up our bolt. Now that we have our bracket up in place, I went ahead and just tapped it flat to the side of the frame. We're going to go ahead and torque this self-tapping bolt to the specifications listed in instructions. Now we're going to drill out two more 1/4 inch holes for the last two self-starting bolts. Once we get that one started we can start our self-tapper into that hole. Run that down till it's flush against the frame. Now we'll torque down those last two bolts. You want to follow your torque specifications listed in our instructions. Now we're ready to assemble our bag. We're going to take this roll plate, we're going to set it on top and going to take our air fitting and we're just going to get it started in there for the time being. We're going to take our top plate, the one with the four square holes and the cutout and we'll take our 3/8 bolt, this is the fine threaded one, put a lock washer and a flat washer and we'll just start it into place. Before we run that down, we're going to take these third bolts, we're going to flip them up from the inside and make sure we put all four of them in first. Once the bag is snugged down, you're not going to be able to put them in there. We'll go ahead and snug down our air fitting. You'll feel it kind of starting to tighten up, you'll want to make another 3/4 to a full turn. Now it doesn't matter where it lands because this does swivel. Then we take a 9/16 socket, we're going to run down the bolts on the top, then we're going to torque them to the specifications in our instructions. This is going to be our passenger side plate, the one that has the two elongated square holes. Our driver's side, as you'll see in your instructions, it's got a notch that the bolt will drop down into. So if you have the one with the two oblong square holes you know you have the passenger side bracket. Install our roll plate on the bottom as well. Then with these two teeth, these will be rearward-facing on your vehicle, they're going to land on the bottom of the bump stop. Take these two flat Allen headed bolts, we're going to install those into the bottom of the bag. We'll do the same thing, we're going to torque these bolts to specifications. With our bag on it, we're going to slide two of our carriage bolts through those elongated holes and we're going to set it up into place. You're going to make sure that your airline fitting is on the outside, facing out. We have our bolts in place. Take our bag. It's going to be two existing holes, we're going to slide those two bolts inside and on the back here we're going to slip this down, slide it forward and that's going to capture the back side of our bracket. Now one of the bolts you're going to be able to see easily. The other one's going to be inside this pocket here. We're going to start on the one we can see first. It's going to be a flange nut with a serrated edge, going to act as your lock. Now this thing isn't going to get in there very well so I'm going to put inside of a short socket with an extension to get it started. Once you've got it centered, take a 9/16 socket and we'll torque them to the specifications in our instructions. Our next steps, we're going to put the spring rubber back on our spring. You can see it's going to be an indentation where the end of it lined up and we'll just line that up on the spring. We'll take our spring, place it back up in to the pocket and we're going to make sure we line up that witness mark that we put on there earlier, go ahead and attach our shocks. Now we'll take a 21mm wrench and socket and we can re-secure our shocks. We're going to slowly raise our Jack up, pushing our bag up against the bracket. While we're doing that we're going to try and line everything up. Start in the front, we'll get one nut on there. We're going to use the flange nuts again. We're going to take a flexible headed ratchet wrench and going to slowly draw this up. You may have to work it around with a pry bar to get it to line up. Now, if you're doing this at home in the driveway, this is probably the time you want to put your wheels on and set the weight of the vehicle on it, because it's going to make it line up a lot easier. Once you've got your bolts lined up, you can just snug them up. Go ahead and tighten down all four of these bolts. You're going to have to run these down and make them nice and tight because you're not going to be able to get a torque wrench in there. Once we have those all tightened down, we're ready to start attaching our air lines. Now, our air line's going to come in one complete tube with two fittings pre-assembled. We're going to find about the center of it. Be careful you don't kink this while you're trying to straighten it out. You want to take a tubing cutter, this will give you a nice square edge. If you don't have one they're available on our website, part number AL10530. Lay your tube into place and we'll cut it in half. We're going to need a location for our air line fittings. Go ahead and go right here in the plastic, we've already checked on the backside, nothing's going to be in the way. I'm going to go ahead and put them right there. We'll drill out two 5/16 holes. I went ahead and put on our nut, followed by our star washer. Then we're going to slide it through the backside of our bumper and we're going to install a rubber washer, a flat washer, followed by the last hex nut. About 1/4 to 1/2 inch, I'd be closer to 1/4 so your cap fits on there nice and flush. We'll take 1/2 inch socket. We're just going to snug them down by hand. If they're not level, you just want to loosen up the nut in the backside and it will allow a little bit more to come out. Now we can put on our valve cap to keep them protected from dirt and grime. We went ahead and routed our lines. We've covered them with some wire lube that's available on our website, part number 7509-10. Let's put some 1/4 inch room, couple of pieces where it's going to make any contact. It's going to help protect our line. When we came in we went into the frame rail, came out down here. It does come in a piece of heat protected for the line where it goes closest to the exhaust so I went ahead and put that over top of where our resonator here, our exhaust is. We ran it through the frame rail and came out on the front side. Now we're going to need to shorten it up and we'll plug it in to our airbag. We have our nice flat end. We're going to take it and put it inside our connection. You want to push it in, you'll feel it kind of click on the bottom out and just give it a tug and we know it's locked. Now we can route that last piece of loom 00:15:33 over top of our hose to keep it protected. We'll tape our loom 00:15:36 into position. The last thing we have to do is put on our protective heat shield that came with our kit. The heat shield's going to come as one flat piece, so we're going to need to make it where it's going to stand up away from our exhaust. We'll bend up both of our tabs and we'll take a pair of pliers and we're going to put a bend in it like that so we can put that around our clamp. Now our heat shield's going to be located in this area right here and held on with a couple of supplied screw clamps. So you have it in location, we can adjust it by bending it so it's not going to come into contact with anything. We'll just go ahead and tighten this nice and tight into position, bend those out of the way so they're not going to vibrate. We're going to go ahead and put some air in the bags so we can check for leaks. We can put about 25 pounds in the bag and we'll take some soapy water solution and we're going to test all of our connections and make sure we don't have any leaks. We're going to spray our connections and we're going to look for any bubbles that are going to come out of there. You want to make sure you have about 20 pounds of air in them, just so you can make sure you don't have any leaks when they're under pressure. Just look and see if you're seeing any bubbles starting to form rapidly. If you do, push in on the collar, release the hose and you can recut it on the end and put it back in. Once you're satisfied that you don't have any leaks, we can go ahead and reinstall our ties and we're ready to load down our truck. You want your wheels to just be touching the ground and we'll go ahead and torque them in our crisscross pattern. That's going to do it for a look at and install of the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs, part number AL57365 on our 2013 RAM 1500.

Have had the air bags installed for 3-4 weeks now. Love them! Huge difference in ride quality when hauling or towing heavy loads. My only criticism is in the design. The left side fit perfect and the bag is perfectly aligned vertically but the right side bag is canted slightly. Almost as if the bottom brackets holes are drilled slightly off. I called the company and was told that up to 15 degrees is acceptable. It just looks as though the bag may wear more but time will tell I guess. I would still recommend. Also looking at purchasing the compressor system to ensure the bags always have adequate pressure. 421216

About a year ago, I installed this on my 2013 Ram 1500 with the hemi. I pull an enclosed 6x12 trailer with my tools and equipment in it. The trailer has a heavy tongue weight and is driven in city traffic every day. This kit has saved my front tires from wearing any more than they did as well as how easy it is to adjust the height of the truck based on my current load. I recommend it. 295497

I haul a 8' truck camper that pops up, it has a app. 1400 # weight to it. I also pull a 17' Lund boat that is loaded with my 2011 Dodge 1500. When I first put the truck camper on the truck before installation of the air bags, my truck squatted 6", basically it bottomed out. But when I put the air bags on, WOW, what a difference it made. Now when I travel down the road, there is no more swaying, or bouncing like it use to do on my Chevey that I use to haul it all with without any air bags. But now I see Dodge these are put on all their trucks. I am SO HAPPY I purchased these, & would recommend them to anyone. I told my neighbor about them & he put a set on his F2500, to pull his 31' 5th wheel, & he loves them. I was 65yrs. young when I purchased & installed these Air Bags, & was a welder for 45yrs.. nut if you have any doubts weather you can put them on. Well relax the video that shows you how to put them on when you purchased them makes it a breeze. I hope this easess your mind if you are in doubt about making the purchase. And the price I believe was more than fare. Good Luck to All, And May GOD RICHLY BLESS ALL WHO CALL ON HIS NAME. 345917

This was an airbag install that took me about 4 hours. I did this in my garage with a minimum of tools. I did end up about an inch higher bed height even with empty airbags and no weight on the vehicle but this may come down with use. The shipping from etrailer was fast and the sales agents have firm grasp of their products and installation procedures. I can always get a straight answer from them. I also ordered the curt under bed gooseneck hitch. This took me about 8 hours to install but I was in no hurry and wanted it done right. Thanks etrailer for great service. 491845

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

High quality and heavy duty. Good instructions as well. Just got them installed yesterday on my 2009 F-150 crew cab with 6.5' box. I also have the B&W turnover gooseneck ball hitch and my main concern was still being able to mount these. Fit like a charm, no interference at all. I wish I would have purchased them sooner. Sometimes we haul loads that might be just a bit heavy for an F-150, but we are careful. These will certainly help. I have similar air bag type suspensions install on our other two work trucks and I love them. What I did was got myself a 1/4" compression tee and plumbed both air bags into one valve. That way, they air up evenly. It comes with everything to air up each bag separately but I prefer them to be the same. They cost about $6 at any hardware store. I mounted the single air fill valve near the drivers tail light inside the box facing forward. There is an opening where the tail light harness runs up and I followed that with the air valve. I drilled a hole and snaked a tie wire down and through some finagling I managed to get the valve out the hole and mounted. Looks good and is out of the way. Install took me about 5 hours from tools out to tools away, but I was not in a big hurry. I aired them up to 70 psi and drove home looking like a hot rod with the back kicked up. Checked the air pressure this morning and all is well. No leaks as far as I can tell. Highly recommended and a great price as well. 643462

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

I have a 2019 Nissan Titan XD with the 5.6 GAS motor. Wanted to do an Airlift suspension to provide a little support and get my headlights perfectly back to level when towing my travel trailer. No one makes an airbag kit for the gas XD, but after discussing it some with John H at etrailer, I decided to go with the kit for the diesel truck and see how things went. The kit for the diesel truck fit perfectly, except that there is an emissions component hung from a bracket on the driver's sign frame that prevents a direct install of the driver's side bag. My shop was able to install the kit with no trouble - they just had to bend the bracket with the small emissions component attached upwards for clearance. Everything else went in as designed. Great fit - can't wait to see it work under load. 669525

I have had the air bags installed for over a year now. From the boat ramp, camper and dump trailer these things just work GREAT. I will add a set of these to every truck i owe from now on! So nice to be able to level you truck out regardless it being a large or small load. They truly give your truck a safer ride when towing! 526431

Came well packaged, all itsy bitsy parts accounted for. Says no drilling required but you will need a cutting wheel or hacksaw to cut a bolt off. Instructions are pretty good but pictures sometimes don't show exactly what you need to know. My favorite part 2 hrs install. We all know that means at least 4. One more hour and I'll be finished. 426268

The Airlift airbags I installed on my 2015 Ford F-150 were easy to install and everything fit as described. I have made several purchases from etrailer.com and am very satisfied with the products they sell and the speed in delivery. 211609

One year later I still like these airbags. My truck rides level and handles smoothly. Without a load, however, its stiff in back and bounces, even with the airbags deflated.

The addition of the Air Lift is by far something I should have done years ago. I was short in time so I had my local Midas shop install them. They work so well. I only needed 20 lbs. of pressure to level the truck and trailer. On the road, the trailer rode better, braking felt better, and the up and down motion I disliked going over bumps is gone. Awesome product for safety while towing. 568497

Thanks for the follow up. That is exactly what I love about this company, the customer service is out of this world!!! Everyone I have talked with there has gone above and beyond to make sure we are happy with our many many purchases. Everything we have bought there for a 5th wheel has been great. We do not have one complaint. Your company will have us for customers forever. It is so hard to find companys that truly care about their customers like you all!!! Thank you so much!! for taking time to go that extra mile!!!

Fast shipping and excellent customer service. Will continue to purchase from etrailer. Took about 8 hrs to install the kit. I'm sure that would have been faster for someone who has done it before but I took my time. The air bags work just as I wanted and the kit appears to be high quality materials. If you purchase a kit take your time installing as it's best to fit and refit a couple times on parts of the kit to ensure everything is going as laid out by the instructions. 72041

The product was delivered in a perfect condition and as scheduled. Very simple installation for 2016 Ford F150. The Ride with 5 lbs is better than the factory ride. I thought it would be a rough based on what others said. The rear height did get raised by 1/2" at 5 lbs. With a good bicycle pump it took 4 pumps to get to 20 lbs., that's much better than getting out the the compressor. 485152

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

Installed this kit a month ago and used it three times pulling my travel trailer. Works as described and has performed as I expected it to. I have a GMC 1500 and no matter if I have my travel trailer with a 600lb tongue weight or 6'x10' single axle trailer with a 160lb tongue weight, with load of course, my truck would squat in the back. I already added a sway control/weight distribution system and now wanted to get my truck in the right configuration while pulling. For safety and performance. After reading a lot of reviews I chose this kit. This kit was easy to install but did take 3 or 4 hours. I wasn't in a rush and wanted to make sure I followed everything in the instructions and not miss anything. I didn't want to rush through it to miss a critical step and then lose brake fluid due to a hole in a brake line. Mainly didn't want to break anything important nor did I want to puncture the air lifts or the poly lines. Kit went on as expected and fit perfectly. The instructions included pictures and examples to follow that illustrate how everything fits and where everything should be routed. I would definitely buy again. 589432

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

I ordered the Air Lift 5000 from etrailer and I was very pleased with doing business with them. I normally order parts from someplace else but I will be using etrailer for all my future needs. The part was delivered on time and etrailer helped me make the right choice for my needs. Helpful, knowledgeable, timely, and provided the right part for the job; 5 stars from me for that. Now onto the Air Lift 5000. I was amazed at how detailed the instructions were. They made it extremely easy to follow the instructions while building the assemblies. Probably one of the easiest part assemblies I have ever put on a truck and definitely the most detailed instructions I have ever seen. Everything bolted directly to stock mounts on the frame and no drilling was required. After getting everything mounted to the truck and installing the air lines, I was a little skeptical about the air line connections and I was afraid of leaks. I filled both air lines to 60 PSI after the install and when I checked the pressure this morning, I was still at 60 PSI. The last thing I will cover is the ride. I have not towed my trailer yet but I am excited for when I do. I dropped the air pressure to 7 PSI this morning and took a 30 mile drive. The difference this part has made is unbelievable. It still rides like a truck but it is much stiffer in the back now when driving on rough roads which adds a huge difference to the ride quality. I can only imagine the difference I will experience when towing my 12k trailer. Overall, I could not be more happy with my purchase. etrailer has 5 star customer service and they sold me a 5 star part. 484223

The product arrive in a timely matter as with everything that I have purchased from e-trailer , the only problem I had was there were some lock nuts missing from the package , 2 pouches were opened when I opened the box , [ this was from the factory not e-trailer fought ] the photo's in the installation booklet could have been a little clearer , my truck has sway bars and none of the photo's showed them that I could see and the installation book didn't talk about them , Had to figure it out on my own . Other than that no problems , took about 4 hours to install , a 4 point drive on lift would be a great help , also remove the spare tire , it helps 513733

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

Finished the install last weekend fairly smoothly. I jacked up one side of the truck at a time since I only had one jack. Had to put the jack on cinder blocks to get it high enough to engage the leaf spring front mount. One comment/suggestion for the installation guide. The only thing I struggled with was the parking brake cable. It was exactly in the way of engaging the bottom bracket to the axle. No matter how I moved the bracket it would not clear the cable. Then the light came on, release the brake dummy! Once the brake was released there was plenty of room to engage the assembly onto the axle. Of course, I did put some chalks on the front tires to keep the truck from rolling while I was underneath... No leaks, and it seems to ride much smoother than before. Thanks for a great product, 104826

I still like the product but it seems to have a slow leak somewhere and will not hold air pressure for a week at the original setting. Guess I need to do a bubble leak test, just have not gotten to it. Other than that the product is great.

The air bags went in great, and pretty easy. I did not like the recommended location for the air valves. So I put them through the body panels to have them inside the back doors. I installed the product yesterday. It took 6 hours working alone including a trip to the village to buy a new corded electric drill. Installation required drilling 8 holes in the frame and 4 holes in the upper brackets. Anyone attempting this installation be wary of the brake line and wiring harness behind the driver side frame. My impression is that the kit is good quality and should provide excellent service. I am anxious to hook up the travel trailer and put this system to the test. 718962

  • Recommendation for Reducing Rear Sag on 2015 Ram 1500 When Hooked Up to Trailer
  • The type of air bag kit that will work best for your 2015 Ram 1500 will depend on what kind of tongue weight is being put on the rear axle with your trailer hooked up. The Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs # AL60818 is more of a lighter duty kit that features a load-leveling capacity of 1,000 pounds. The two springs have adjustable air pressures of 5 psi to 35 psi. The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 # AL57365, on the other hand, has a load-leveling maximum of 5,000 pounds. This is likely more...
