Will Air Lift 1000 Coil Helpers Level A Truck With 500 lbs Of Hitch Weight?

I can’t seem to find the answer to this although I’m sure it’s been asking. Although the airlift 1000 isn’t specially designed to compensate for tongue weight, would the 1000lb lift weight be able to level a 2021 ram classic with 500lbs of hitch weight?

Hey Bill, thanks for reaching out. So the AirLift 1000 coil helpers will help to support the suspension, and with only 500 lbs of tongue weight you should not see a whole lot of sagging, if any. That said, the coil helpers are not as effective for ride leveling as the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 air bags would be. The 5000s allow you to really fine tune that suspension to get the ride perfectly level. The coil helpers will help reduce sagging, but you do not have as much control over the ride height.
If you will only be towing a few times a year, and for short distances, the Air Lift 1000 # AL60818 will do just fine for your 2021 Ram 1500 Classic. If you plan to tow frequently, and for long trips, I suggest going with something more heavy-duty, like the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs # AL57365.
