The Yakima OutPost HD Overland Truck Bed Rack is made to handle serious weight whether you’re on pavement or backcountry tracks. It carries up to 500 lbs on the road, 300 lbs off-road, and supports 800 lbs when parked, so it’s solid enough for rooftop tents, kayaks, or lumber. The heavy-duty aluminum construction keeps the rack strong but light, with a total rack weight of just 50 lbs. Each upright rises 13" above the bed rails, giving you the right balance of clearance and easy reach to your gear.
With its 13" tall uprights, the rack holds your cargo above the bed but still close at hand. You don’t need to climb or stretch to reach your gear, which makes it ideal for quick loadouts or frequent stops. The mid-level height also keeps your center of gravity low, which helps stability when hauling heavy loads off-road or at highway speeds.
Both the inside and outside of the uprights feature T-slot channels that let you mount gear where you want it. You can add off-road lights, load stops, or eye bolts directly into the channels, while the top channels on the crossbars fit bike racks, kayak carriers, or rooftop tents. Rubberized strips in the top channels cut down on wind noise and drag, and etched measurements make setup simple and repeatable.
The OutPost HD secures to your truck bed with BedGrip clamps, so no drilling is needed. The QuickChange system means you can install or remove the rack in minutes when you need full bed access. Built-in tie-down points on the uprights and endcaps provide easy anchor spots for straps, while the Same Key System lock cores secure the rack to your bed.
Made from sturdy aluminum with a black powder coat, this rack is rustproof and ready for heavy use. It’s been tested beyond ISO standards for rough terrain—handling bumps, swerves, and sudden stops without flexing. Rack system works very good. Easy to take off and on my F150. Wish it was more adjustable to lower the system a few inches. Also because of the bed formation cannot place anywhere on the bed. Overall it is stable and rides well

Great rack system for tonneau cover with rail system. Easy install and very well made, the only down side is when you order the system for the tonneau cover you also get all the hardware for non tonneau cover trucks. Excessive amount of expensive hardware you’ll never use with your tonneau cover installed
After researching many truck racks I decided to purchase this one. The staff at etrailer were very helpful and friendly . The product arrived on schedule with no problems. The installation was fairly easy straightforward. I must say that I made the right decision in choosing this product as the quality is very good. Once I got it installed it was rock solid. The following week I made a 600 plus miles trip to the mountains with a Thule cargo box installed on it and had zero problems. I would check it whenever I stopped to make sure it was still secure and it remained rock solid with no issues. I am very satisfied with this Yakima rack and would highly recommended it. I also recommend etrailer for doing business with. They followed up with me on my purchase to see if I was satisfied or had any problems. I will do business with them again!
