Using the included screws, bolt the light down onto the ceiling or wall of your RV. Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Command eEectronics, adjustable reading lamp. So this LED light gives off a nice warm light. And being LED it's gonna be very efficient. So this is gonna be a really good upgrade going from an incandescent bulb. Also with this, there's also some really nice features.
First off the reading lamp. You can actually adjust that as necessary to get that perfect light in the spot that you need. You also had this nice black finish on it, which gives it a good modern look to it. And then this little silver cap here, you just press that and it's touch sensitive. Now, I'll press it once and you can see this little LED ring around the top and it's good mood light, or maybe even a nightlight.
That way, if you wake up in the middle of the night, need to go to the bathroom, you can turn that on have just enough to get out without blinding someone else. Now, when I wanna read, I have this light as well. But the features don't stop there. Something else that sets this one apart. In front here, there's a USB.
So you can charge all your smart devices as well. I know a lot of times I'm limited with plugs around where I'm sleeping. And most of the time, you have your electronics charging for the night. And if you're out of outlets, that can be a problem. Oh, having a USB port here is gonna be really nice.
Now it has got an awkward above the bed, but you could simply run your cords over. Or while you have your phone in your hand, you'll have it charging away. If you're wondering about what the USB can charge, this is a 5-Volt. So that's gonna be pretty standard for all your electronics or your smart devices that you're gonna wanna charge. Also, this can be mounted in a horizontal or a vertical position. So really you can make it work wherever you have electric running to a existing light. So as we go through, we're gonna be updating the lights in this camper. You can see the previous model, it's not too bad and then overall not a bad look. But the light you can see has a yellow. Whereas, our warm light here is truly white. It's gonna give you a cleaner look, more modern and just better light for reading. And also having this ring light here really adds a little extra touch to it. That in conjunction with the ability to charge really makes this a great option for upgrading. Having pendant lights near your bed a lot of times it's gonna be awesome. Because when your partner's sleeping, they can stay in the dark. This focuses if you wanna read a book or you're not quite ready for bed. You can aim this and keep the light directly where you want it to be. Now, when these kind of go out, it's a good excuse to kind of update our lighting in the camper. And a light fixture can really make a big difference. Now, as far as taking these out and swapping them, they're pretty simple. Most of these are gonna just have two screws going into the wood. We wanna be careful not to pull down on the pendant when they're moving them, because it can damage this board. So simply unscrew both of them. And then this should drop down. Now, since we are performing electrical work, you're gonna wanna shut off the electrical to the camper. So we're not getting zapped while dealing with the electric. You can see, I mean you can simply have a positive. Cap Sometimes can be a little tricky. So take your time with that. We have our positive and our negative. And they're simply just capped to the red and black wires on the pendant. So changing this out should be pretty simple. Now you can sometimes bend these back to make more of a circle. And those will actually come apart there and you can actually reuse these if you like. Or you can actually get new wire nuts which I recommend. But as you can see, they're just simply tied together and then capped and that should be it. Our black wire is gonna go to the red and white for power, and our white will go to the white for negative. Note that your power wires may be different colors, so be sure to test them. It is a touch sensor. So pressing it once will turn on our ring light, which is nice for just some ambient light. Touching it twice will turn on both lights and a third time turns it off. Now that we know it's working, we can feed our wires back into place and get it mounted up. Now, the hardware for mounting it back up is not included. And you may need to get longer screws from your previous one to make it work. But a quick trip to the hardware store, and you should have these re-installed. So simply just screw this back into place. Just a little wood screw should work. Put the other one in and there you have it. That's the install of the pendant lights. So within five minutes, not only have we updated our lighting, but it also looks a lot nicer, I think. And that was a look and installation of the Command Alectronics adjustable LED reading light..

These lights are great. I had installed them on our other camper and wanted them for this camper. Now you have a bright enough light to read or a soft light for a night light that is not blinding.
This was purchased as a replacement for an original in a 2014 Mercedes Era Sprinter Winnebago Class B. It's really bright, articulates easily, and has the night-light glow ring setting which is very useful. It has a touch switch rather than a rocker switch which is actually better. When another original LED multi-bulb light burns out, I will get another. Mounts in the same holes as the original one.
exact replacement for what I had, works great. I had to buy the whole unit since I didn't know how to replace the burnt out LED the end piece)
Bought to replace a night next to the bed in our camper. Nice and bright. Like how easy it is to move the light around. Touch sensor is sensitive, don't seend to hit it just right. Not sure if that will be good or bad. Will need to camp a few times and see if I accidentally turn it on.
Would have given 5 starts if the mounting holes were a little wider. The hole the wires go through was a standard size for a camper light. First attempt was to center the light over the hole. One screw was on the edge of the hole and the other hit in the hole. Postioned the light just so the top of the hole was covered for both screws to attach.
Works great. Goid for reading at night

This 12V touch light still works great. No issues.
great little piece of light. measured backlight ring at 0.03 amps and combined with the reading light at 0.17 amps. this information was very much less than the noted value in your information. the information from etrailer and noted on the lamp itself must include the fully loaded USB receptacle. charging my cell phone managed to load the 12 volt battery to 0.5 amps. this information will help determine battery load.

Works great. ambient backlight good for casual interior work,, while the reading light is good and brite for its purpose.
Exactly what I was looking for and at a fair price
These lights have been an excellent choice for my recent GMC camper van build. I put one on each side of my bed. They are an awesome reading light as well as having the indirect wall light. I always use the USB plug to charge my cell phone. Your video describes the light very well. I’m glad that I bought these.
This light is great. I used it to replace the reading light above our bed that was to bright, not adjustable, and would shine directly into your eyes.
The ring light provides a soft ambiance that does not shine straight down into your eyes while the adjustable reading light is bright and can be pointed to where needed.
The base does have a USB plug but I don't think I well use it due to where I mounted the light above our bed, but is a great option.
I have shopped several times with etrailer.com and I would highly recommend them to anyone. They have great customer service and process all my orders in a timely manner. I have returned some items and there return process is easy.
The one in my camper failed @ about 9 months (main light failed due to faulty solder point). The base light on the one I purchased to replace it did not work. etrailer has promised to replace it.

Easy to install and very functional. The reading light can be directed to where the light is needed but the ring light is an added benefit...serving as a night light.
A year after installing and I still love these little lights! I use them way more than the overhead. Good brightness, the night-light feature is charming, and the USB port is a nice little bonus for slow, over-night phone charges. Super simple install and well worth the price.
The reading lamp arrived quickly and looks great. No damage. Touch activated switch is cool. And the backlight/night light mode is a great feature. Light quality is diffused and warm. Can’t wait to install in my camper van.
We have used two of these in the bedroom of our 5er for several years. The other day I went to turn one of them off the static electricity zapped it. Electronic devices don't do well with static electricity. This is a replacement.

This amazing light is a staple of our square camper. We each have one 4 though at night even one on its first setting is bright enough to light up everything. The USB port is also such a convenience for charging devices.
We love this product when they work, we’ve had two of the three fail, although both were warrantied and replaced, so thats a positive!

These lights have been great. We love that you can have a bright light or just a soft night light. My wife always goes to bed before me and she leaves my side on the night light so I can see to get in bed.
