Light changes how your Transit feels inside. Without it, the middle section stays dark and harder to use. This fixed side panel window swaps that solid section for glass, bringing in daylight and visibility without creating an open window.
This window replaces the solid metal panel in the passenger-side middle position of your Ford Transit. Instead of a blank wall in the center section, you gain a fixed glass panel that brings light into the van without adding a vent or moving parts. It keeps that area sealed while opening up visibility.
The glass is tempered and meets DOT and SAE standards for road use. Tempered construction allows it to handle everyday vehicle movement and, if broken, it fractures into small pieces rather than sharp shards.
The middle side panel sits along the main cargo and living area of the Transit. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see inside while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 83% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that section of glass.
Cutting into the middle side panel is permanent. The glass has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the body. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied around the perimeter. When the glass is set into place, that urethane bonds it to the body panel and forms the seal that keeps water from entering the wall cavity. This bond secures the glass and creates the weather barrier so you can bring in light without adding a vented opening.

Hi, everyone, Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at this Van Windows Direct fixed rear quarter window for the passenger side of your 2015 through current Ford Transit. Any wheel base, as long as it's not a Ford Transit Connect. So, make sure you're checking the year, make, and model in the fit guide over here at etrailer. Be sure you're getting the right parts the very first time. Now, as I just mentioned, this is going to be the passenger side rear quarter panel, and that image will kind of show you and circle or square up where this is going.
And folks, this is a window replacement. You're literally going to cut out the metal stamped-out panel towards the rear of the van. And this will give you more natural light when it's installed. As you can see, it's anti-glare, so it's reflecting everything here in the studio as well. But it does have a nice 17% tint to it, that's going to help limit visibility into the van while still allowing you to see out of the van.
You can see the contour of it. It's got a little curve to it, that's going to match the contour of the van. So it's going to be a custom fit. If you don't want to tackle the install yourself, we got install location places around the nation. That being said, if you do want to tackle it yourself, you will need some other stuff that's not included. You're going to need some automotive-grade urethane, primer, securing tape, those kind of things, maybe even a caulk gun. So I'll put them on the screen for you as well. Again, those are sold separately. Now, this glass, again, is shaped to follow the factory stamping and contour of that Transit van on that quarter-side rear panel.
So again, you're going to have that OE appearance. It's going to be great for letting light in, like I mentioned before, but also just giving your van a nice look. And as you saw from my photo before on the screen, we do carry these on all the windows that you need if you're adding a window to those vans.
