No issues at all.

Worked out awesome. I bought this for a buddy for his used truck. The previous owners for what ever reason took it. Plugged it in and worked flawlessly.

by:
2004 Nissan Titan

The 3 star rating is because this is not a direct replacement for a Nissan Armada. I bought this to replace the original socket on a 2004 Nissan armada. The hitch on the car says it is a Nissan hitch. I did not notice that the original socket mounted as a twist lock type and the bracket had no mounting screws when I ordered this socket. In defense of the manufacture and distributor of this socket the description did not say it was a direct replacement for an armada the assumption would be that the hitch would be the same as a titan. This was no big deal for me since I had a drill and bits to drill mounting holes and used # 8 sheet metal screws. Just have to be careful to drill the holes the right size so they self thread properly. I have been looking to see if there is a direct replacement for the original socket but can't seem to find one not even on Nissan's parts web site so I guess you just have to do what I did. I didn't think to take a video of the installation but I have included a picture of the finished install.

I had to replace the socket in my truck after I forgot to disconnect the plug when setting up my camper 1 year ago. Since then, I've connected the camper 35 times and pulled it over 6,000 miles. I have had no issues at all with the new socket.

2016 Porsche Cayenne

It fit right up to my 2016 Porsche Cayenne diesel. A very simple installation.

by:

It fit perfect and was literally plug and play.

by:

This is it!! If you have a Porsche Cayenne with a tow package (mine's a 2017) and you're wondering why the wiring "connector" that came from the factory is just a plate with nothing to plug in to... This is the thing you need! It fits the holes in the mounting bracket perfectly and plugs right into the harness coming out of the car (after you carefully release the little clip holding the clip connecting the plate to the harness (no, that's not a typo). I also purchased a matching 7 to 4-pin adapter, so I can easily connect to either. And etrailer had it all... and made it easy. Quick shipping, just as promised. Love e-Trailer! :)

by:

Still working after a year. Performs as expected. Easy to install.

1995 Ford F-250 Super Duty

After redoing my trailer wiring harness to put a socket in the bed of my 1995 F250, I used this to replace the old socket in my bumper. Saved me having to do more splicing and hard wiring in the old socket.

After a year of use, this is still working great. I don’t use it a lot as most of my towing is of the 5th wheel using the in-bed connector.

Easy to install and has worked every si nce

2000 Toyota Tundra

Hi, I am a ASE Certified Automotive technician for 30-plus years. I have to say these parts are Factory quality, the option for Direct Fit everything plugs right into the wiring harnesses fits as if they came as original equipment with the vehicle and the same quality. When ordering parts if you call and speak to an operator that extremely helpful and actually know what's going on. And their tech support this extremely knowledgeable.

by:
2008 Porsche Cayenne

This is the original plug and play. For VW SUV's this does the trick. I recommend using some anti-seize on the bolts that secure this into the mount. I have this on both an Audi and a Porsche both work great. The picture shows what the car some with so you simply plug this unit into the factory socket and secure with 4 machine screws.

by:

Nice fit to my factory harness. This was a replacement for the factory hitch mount. I decided to drill a hole and mount in the bumper like I’ve seen on other vehicles. This makes for a convenient and protected location.

Wrong Pollak product. needed Pollak 12-705 6-24 volts Female (truck)

by:
2015 Audi Q7

The right adapter, fits Audi q7 factory tow package. 1/3 the price of Audi part. Fast shipping, etrailer is the place for reasonably priced trailer parts.

  • Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness For a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500
I was unable to find much about the wires you located. That being said, you will need to test your plugs with something like # PTW2993. This will confirm which port is which function. As we do not have anything that will plug directly into your plugs, the # PK11893-11933 will need to be hardwired to get everything up an running. Due to this, it would be better to go with # PK11893 and # PK11998. This is specifically a hardwire kit so you wouldn't need to cut off the rectangular plug.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring of 2014 Ford F-250 Not Fully Functioning
The relays shouldn't be able to be installed 180 degrees out so I would not anticipate that being the issue. Did you also check the fuses related to those circuits as well? If that checks out too I'd anticipate it's the 7-way connector at fault which you should be able to fix by cleaning the pins of the 7-way with sandpaper or you could just replace it with part # PK11893.

If just the taillights on your trailer are not working, but the turn signals and brake lights are you will want to start with finding if the issue is on the tow vehicle or trailer. Using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 test the 11 o'clock pin if you have a 7-way connector on your tow vehicle, or the pin right next to the ground pin if you have a 4-way connector as shown in the included diagrams. You will need to have the head lights of your vehicle on for this pin to have power. If you...

The style of 7-way you have that has the blue terminals cannot be taken apart once put together. We have tried here and we always end up braking them. You are going to have to replace your 7-way with a new one like the part # PK11893 that you referenced. You would want to wire up this 7-way the same way that your old one is wired up.

You should not have to make any changes to switch from the now-discontinued Prodigy RF brake controller to the factory brake controller on your 2008 Ford F-350. Of course you will not want to use the Prodigy RF's module on the front of your trailer, you will want to remove that and simply plug your trailer's 7-way into the 7-way on your 2008 Ford F-350, which will be the same plug as the Pollak Replacement 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector Socket - Vehicle End # PK11893. But if you just need to replace the 7-Way end on the RV then you could do that it you want. If the 7-Way has a round plug at the back that just plugs into it then you could use # PK11893.
