  • Recommended Replacement Trailer Lights With Side Lights For Small Utility Trailer
We have just what you are looking for. I recommend the LED Submersible Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light, part # STL8RB. This is for the right side of the trailer and is a stud mounted LED light. It has the side marker light that illuminates when the running lights are powered. For the left side of the trailer you will want part # STL9RB. I have attached a product review video and have also attached a drawing that shows the dimension for these lights you can take a look at.

  • Preferred Method of Grounding Trailer Lighting Circuits
Running a direct ground up to the trailer tongue or junction box would certainly work, but the only time I'd see that as being necessary is if the lamps were connected to a non metallic structure or a metallic structure that wasn't directly connected to the trailer frame. If the lamps aren't connected to a metal structure in direct contact with the trailer frame, you can use a short length of # DW02359-1 wire with a # DW05702-1 ring terminal on each end to serve as a jumper wire that joins...

  • How to Connect Trailer Wiring to Optronics # ST8RB and # ST9RB Trailer Tailllights
If you have the Optronics # ST8RB and # ST9RB, no connector is needed. On the back of the taillight, there is a hole for the stop/turn and a hole for the running light wire. Each of these holes will have a smaller hole directly below it. Strip back the insulation on the wire by about a 1/4 inch, twist the copper strands of each wire tightly and push it into the hole in the back of the lamp as you're pushing a small screwdriver into the smaller hole. Once the wire is fully inserted, remove...

  • How to Wire Optronics Right-Hand Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light, Part # ST8RB
The Optronics Right-Hand Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light, Part # ST8RB, connects with two wires. On the rear of the housing are holes to accept bare wire and underneath each one is a smaller hole that serves as a wire release; just insert a small pin (or something like a paper clip) to release the wires. The left-hand matching light is part # ST9RB. If you refer to the included photo illustrating a trailer-side 7-way connector you will be able to see which two wires from the connector...

  • Locating Left Side Assembly for Optronics Trailer Light # ST8RB
The Optronics Trailer Stop, Turn, and Tail Light # ST8RB referenced in your question is for the right side of the trailer. For the corresponding Left Hand assembly, you will just need part # ST9RB, which also includes the needed license plate light. These are really nice, red square trailer lights that are corrosion resistant and feature a replaceable lens and bulb. I have attached a couple short video demonstrations on these lights, along with an installation video that you might find...

  • Replacement for Old Trailer Square Tail Light 4-5/8" x 4-5/8"
I might have an option for you but without more detail, like a photo, it would just be a guess. That said, the size you mentioned is pretty common more or less for square trailer tail lights like the Optronics Combination Trailer Tail Light part # ST8RB for passenger or part # ST9RB for driver. If this is what yours looks like, I recommend using these as the two stud mounting pattern is pretty standard so don't get bogged down in the small dimensional differences. In regards to a replacement...

  • How To Connect Optronics Trailer Lights # ST8RB and # ST9RB To a Trailer
The quick connect feature on the Optronics Light, part # ST8RB, and part # ST9RB, means that you can connect the wires by inserting them into the four holes on the back of the light. It is not referring to a separate part. The wires would be stripped about 1/4 inch and pushed into the correct hole on the back of the trailer light. The holes are marked with the tail light function that the hole provides. The wire when pushed in the hole will automatically lock in place and give you a quick...

  • Utility Trailer Light Wiring Diagram and Required Parts
I have attached two basic trailer light wiring diagrams of utility trailers for you to check out. The difference between the two diagrams is the type of wiring harness that is being used. Diagram 1 shows a traditional wiring layout with jumper wires to provide running light functions for both sides of the trailer and Diagram 2 shows a wishbone harness. The wishbone harness has two running light wires, one for each side of the trailer. Diagram 2 is the preferred method and it is more common...

  • Replacement Tail Light Assemblies for 1976 Argosy Camper
The issue that you're going to run into here is that the lip that you removed is designed to allow you to mount lights on the back because of the curved ends. Because it's such a smooth curve there, you're not going to be able to use something like the Bargman Wraparound Clearance/Side Marker Light - 86 Series - Red - Black Base # 30-86-202. With that said, I'll mention two options for you that you could likely make work by moving the electrical wiring in a bit. First, you could use the...

  • The Optronics Trailer Light, # ST9RB, Is Not Working On Trailer Lights With Separate Ground Wire
The Optronics Trailer Light, # ST9RB is a stud mount light that is grounded through the mounting studs. The lights on your trailer are using a separate ground wire. You will have to run a ground wire to the stud to be able to ground the light. I have the Optronics Trailer Light, # STL9RB. This is a same size light with the same features, but has LED lights instead of the incandescent lights. • Replacement Square Stud Mount Trailer Lights for Utility Trailer
The Combination Trailer Tail Light part # ST9RB for driver side or part # ST8RB for passenger side is just what you need to replace the tail lights on a utility trailer. The lights mount via two studs which are 2" apart so they will be a direct replacement. In regards to installation, the lights ground though the studs so you only need to attach the stop/turn and running light wires for each side.

  • Replacement Tail Light for 1998 Jayco Travel Trailer
Trailer manufacturers do not often maintain original parts information (or availability) for items such as lights, but we can certainly help you find a suitable replacement. • Are the ST8RB and ST9RB Submersible Lights
I have a solution for you, but neither the # ST8RB nor # ST9RB are submersible lights. Instead, you'll want to use the # ST6RB and # ST7RB - which are the submersible versions of those lights. These are still incandescent tail lights that look exactly the same, have the same dimensions and are the same 2 wire electrical system, they're just sealed up so that they can be safely used on boat trailers.

  • What Does Shock Proof Socket Mean for Trailer Lights?
As you mentioned, some of the trailer lights like the Optronics Trailer Stop, Turn, Tail and License Plate Light, 7-Function, Left Hand # ST9RB state that they have a shock proof socket. The manufacturer specifically makes the housing so that the socket has a little bit of play for vibration and road shock built in and they term that a shock proof socket. It just ensures the socket isn't mounted so rigid that the bulb has no give and shatters. This vibration dampening design helps the...
