The Optronics Trailer Light, # ST9RB is a stud mount light that is grounded through the mounting studs. The lights on your trailer are using a separate ground wire. You will have to run a ground wire to the stud to be able to ground the light.
I have the Optronics Trailer Light, # STL9RB. This is a same size light with the same features, but has LED lights instead of the incandescent lights. It is not grounded through the studs so it has the three wires ( brown, yellow, and white) like the wires that are on your old lights. The yellow wire is stop/turn, the brown wire is the taillights, and the white is the ground.
I am sending some video links on how to wire trailer lights and troubleshooting the ground wire.
