The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.
A PC-rated light produces a 90-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light, as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. When properly installed, this type of light can function as both a front clearance light and a side marker light or as a rear clearance light and side marker light.
Surface-mount lights install flat against the surface of the trailer, so a hole does not need to be cut into the trailer for the light. This type of light is installed using a flange or bracket that has mounting holes. And mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Optronics Mini LED Trailer Clearance and Sidemarker Light.This small trailer light functions as both a clearance light and sidemarker light when properly mounted. It is SAE and Department of Transportation compliant.It features a sonically sealed design. So, that means that it is completely waterproof. It is submersible.It is an LED system. LED has been a great replacement for incandescent lights. They last longer.
They burn brighter. They're more efficient. With LEDs, you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments.It has a nice red lens for looking at a polycarbonate lens and housing for strength and durability.It's a direct surface mount installation. Mounting hardware not included, but it mounts directly on the surface of the trailer. Can be mounted horizontally or vertically, whichever works best for your application.It's a two wire design.
So our white wire is our ground wire. Black wire is our power wire. It is P2PC rated.We're going to go over the measurements real quick and then we'll hook it up to power so you can see what it looks like with power running to it.Going edge to edge, this direction, it measures about two and a half inches. Top to bottom, measures about one and one-sixteenth to one and one-eighth inches. The overall depth is only about five-eighths of an inch deep or thick.
So it's a nice low profile design. The mount holes on the unit are separated on center by one and three-quarter inches.We're going to go ahead and hook it up to power. That way you can see what it looks like with power running to it. We'll also turn off our overhead lights, so you can see it in a lower light setting.This light sends out a nice, clear, consistent signal. It features a multi-diode design.
So the unit actually has three LEDs internally. So the multi-diode design really helps optimize the overall light output. The power draw at 12.8 volts is 0.06 amps and Optronics puts a lifetime warranty on the LEDs.That's going to do it for today's look at the Mini LED Trailer Clearance and Sidemarker Light.
