Tight mounting spots aren’t an issue with this compact 2-1/2" long by 1-1/8" tall oblong light. It surface mounts flat against your trailer using standard mounting hardware (not included) and needs only a small wiring hole. Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at the Optronics Mini Side Marker and Clearance Light. This has a clear lens with amber LEDs. Now this is a nice mini LED trailer light, which will function as a clearance and side marker light when it's properly mounted. It does use LEDs, which make great replacements for incandescent lights, the LEDs will last 50 times longer, they're more efficient because they'll provide brighter light with less power output.
And of course there's no bulbs to replace or brittle filaments that'll break, and they do give you a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. You can see those LEDs are a nice durable, polycarbonate housing and lens. You can see it has a clear lens over amber LEDs. And there are three LEDs in there. This is compatible with 12 volt DC systems, and it is designed to surface mount to your trailer.See, there's two holes, one on each end.
Now the hardware to install this is not included and it can be mounted either horizontally or vertically. It does use a two wire pigtail plug for your connection. And this is DOT, Department of Transportation compliant. It is PC rated.Few specs on this. We're going to measure for you the overall length from one end to the other.
It's right at 2 1/2 inches long. The height of it at the widest point in the middle is going to be 1 1/8 inches tall. And the thickness of it has right about 5/8 of an inch thick. Now the distance between the mounting holes center to center is 1 3/4 inches. So what we're going to do is go ahead and plug this into some, I've got a two pin plug here and plug it into.
And once you got it plugged in, go ahead and turn on our power and you'll be able to see there's your three amber LEDs. Go ahead and turn off the overhead light. Give you a good idea of how bright the light is. Now go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights. And we're going to turn off our power.But that should do it for the review on this Optronics Mini Side Marker and Clearance Light with the clear lens and the amber LEDs..
