• How To Change Out the Light Bulb Inside of the Optronics Snap-In Mini License Plate Light LP11CB
  In order to replace the light bulb part # 67 inside of the Optronics Snap-In Mini License Plate Light part # LP11CB you will need to take a small screwdriver and then pry the light base away from the housing. I have attached a photo for where you will need to stick the screwdriver. For an LED version of this light you can use part # LPL11CB which draws less power and puts out more light.

• Optronics LED Interior Lights That Function on Dimmer Switch
  The Optronics LED Trailer License Plate Light # LPL11CB that you referenced WILL work on a dimmer; my contact at Optronics was kind enough to test it. This light operates down to 5.4V at which power input it is fairly dim. Optronics LED Interior Light # RVILL33 is also a dimmable LED Light when used with a 12V dimmer switch (which we don't carry) and so is # ILL39CB.

• Can an Incandescent License Plate Light Blow the Reverse Light Fuse
  It sounds like there is a short that is causing the fuse to blow and not that the license plate light is overdrawing the circuit. If it is a short then changing to an LED light won't help because the short would still cause the fuse to blow. So the first thing you'll want to do is find and repair the short. The most likely culprit is a dirty or corroded vehicle or trailer side connector. Make sure both are clean and free of corrosion inside, where the wires attach, and outside on the pins....

  The LED Trailer License Plate Light with Chrome Housing part # LPL11CB is not offered with a black housing however, we do have similar license plate lights with a black housing, part # LPL82CBB (LED) and part # LP81BB (incandescent). You could also paint the LED Trailer License Plate Light with Chrome Housing black as well but it does not come this way. I wish I had a better option for you.
