The square-tube steel frame is fully welded for strength and topped with a gloss black powder coat over a protective base layer. That combo fights off rust and corrosion from daily use or road salt. It’s tough enough for heavy towing and still looks clean under the bumper with its concealed cross-tube design.
There’s no welding or drilling needed here. This hitch bolts right up to the frame using factory mounting points and comes with all the hardware in the box. The precision, robotic welds ensure everything lines up tight for a smooth install that can be handled in a driveway with basic tools.

Still looks like new and performs as needed. Powder coat wipes off easily. I recommend that you oil the inside of the receiver pocket - not painted because of the fiction when you the receiver. This keeps it from rusting and makes it easy to wipe out periodically

When we installed this hitch on a 2017 Toyota Tacoma we did use some additional tools. We found that a wrench worked best to tighten the bolts in the frame rail above the hitch and when tightening these bolts to the torque specifications listed in the instructions we used a shallow socket. Ive only been using it occasionally to mount a Larin Hitchlift. Its been working excellently, without any problems. Does what I expect it, very sturdy.
