Question:
I want a US made hitch. I don't really notice much of a difference between the Curt and etrailer hitches. They seem to look similar, have similar weight capacities and installations. What is the difference?

The main difference between the Curt # C13264 and the etrailer # e98905 hitch receivers lies in the matte black powder coat finish of the etrailer hitch versus the traditional glossy finish of the Curt hitch. I recommend the # e98905 because the matte finish will hide dirt, scuffs and dings better, and many people just like the more rugged look of the matte black finish better on their vehicle.
Like you pointed out, they are both made in the USA, have the same towing capacities and bolt-on, no-drill installation. They also both provide you with a 2" receiver opening which is the most common size used for hitch mounted accessories such as ball mounts, bike racks and cargo carriers.
