As far as a trailer hitch for your 2022 Toyota Tacoma, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # C13264. With the Curt hitch, you will receive 900 pounds of maximum tongue weight capacity and 6,000 pounds of gross towing weight capacity. In order to make sure your truck can accommodate this much weight, I recommend confirming the weight capacity in your owner's manual. In addition to the weight capacity, the Curt hitch provides about 16-1/2 inches of ground clearance. Please note that this is based on a 2020 Toyota Tacoma. The clearance height on your 2022 Tacoma may be a little different.

For a 7-way for your 2022 Toyota Tacoma, you first need to have a 4-way harness installed on your truck. If you determine that your vehicle does not have a 4-way, you will need the Cur T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56349. This T-Connector includes a powered converter to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer.

After you have the 4-way installed, you are ready for the 7-way. For the 7-way harness, you need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7 in addition to the Curt T-Connector. The Voyager is more of a traditional-style controller than requires mounting into the dashboard of your vehicle near the steering wheel. On the other hand, the Curt Echo allows you to control the settings of your controller with the ease of your Smart device.
