I have a replacement option for you, but Reese Trailer Hitch Receiver from a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 will not fit on a 2004 Chevrolet 2500HD due to the differences in the rear frame.
Instead I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV # 14211 which is confirmed to fit a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with either the 6-1/2' bed or 8' bed, and also has a maximum tongue weight rating of 1000lbs and a maximum trailer weight rating of 10000lbs. Using a weight distribution system bumps the maximum tongue weight rating up to 1200lb and the maximum trailer weight rating to 12000lbs.
Keep in mind you need to check your vehicles owner's manual to find the maximum trailer weight rating, and use the lower rating between the vehicle and the trailer hitch receiver.
You may also be interested in a heavy duty ball mount like the Curt Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mount with 2-5/16" Ball - 4" Drop - 15,000 lbs # C45332 which also includes a 2-5/16" hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip.
I included a video of the # C45332 for you to take a look at.
