Remember when gauging your trailer's tongue weight was such a hassle? It often involved wrestling with bathroom scales, which were far from accurate, or making a trip to the weigh station, which took time and effort. Or you had to buy a separate scale. With a Weigh Safe Hitch, it's super-simple. Just hook up your trailer to the ball mount like you would with any other hitch. The moment you connect, the weight of your trailer pushes down on the hitch ball, automatically giving you a measurement on the easy-to-read gauge. It's quick, hassle-free, and takes the guesswork out of towing. Now you can focus on the road ahead instead of worrying about whether your load is balanced.
This ball mount's convenient stowable design keeps the ball mount platform out of your way when you're not towing. To stow the ball mount platform, simply pull out the dual pins and remove the platform from the shank. Place the ball mount platform on the backside of the shank facing your vehicle. Reinsert the dual pins to attach the platform to the shank. The Weigh Safe Hitch can be used in either the drop or rise position to best suit your needs.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Weigh Safe Built-In Scale Hitch with two stainless steel balls designed for your 2" trailer hitch receiver. Now this ball mount is going to be a great choice if you're looking for a highly durable and easy to use hitch. This does feature a built-in scale that's going to let you easily measure your tongue weight, ensuring better towing safety and performance. So this will slide into your 2" trailer hitch receiver. It's gonna give you two stainless steel balls.
You're gonna get a 2-5/16" and a 2" ball. So you're gonna be able to tow different types of trailers. And then when you have the shank in this orientation, you're gonna get a maximum drop of 8", when you flip it over, a maximum rise of 9" with an incremental adjustment of one inch, making this very versatile for various towing setups. And it's gonna give you that height adjustability that you're looking for, so you can go trailers of different heights with the same vehicle. So when you're using the 2-5/16" hitch ball, you're gonna have a gross towing weight of 12,500 pounds.
With the 2" ball, it's gonna be 10,000 pounds and the maximum tongue weight on this unit is going to be 1500 pounds. So this does feature a tongue weight scale that you can see right here. It's built directly into the ball mount platform that's gonna help you balance your trailer for safer towing. This scale is gonna let you know if your load needs to be adjusted before you tow. It's gonna be a very simple operation.
This will automatically provide a measurement for you every time you couple your trailer. So this is efficient, it's hassle free. You're not gonna have to break out the bathroom scales or take this to take your trailer to a commercial scales. It's gonna do exactly what you need, all in this unit. This also features a dual pin slider lock that's gonna make adjusting the height very simple.
Let me give you a brief demonstration of that. I'm gonna remove this included cover here. I'm gonna take one of the four Ts, insert it into the lock and give it a turn. And then it's going to allow me to remove this. Now while I have this lock out, I wanted to show you that we have these durable aluminum pins, the durable aluminum housing, and our lock is plated steel. So this is going to hold up really well against the elements, but it's also gonna do a great job of making sure that your ball platform is secured to your shank. But I wanted to show you just how easily this ball platform is going to slide up and down the shank. And then another great feature here, lemme go ahead and remove this, is this is stowable. So if you are not going to be towing for a while and you want to get that ball platform outta your way, you'll just stow it like this and then you'll just remove that dual pin slider lock there to lock this into place in the stowable, in this stowable position. So this is going to be ideal so you don't walk behind your truck and accidentally bang your shins into that ball mount. So that's a great added feature that we have here. Let me go ahead and show you how easy it is to swap out the ball. So I'm gonna turn it in this orientation here, and hopefully you can see we do have a retainer pin. So I'm just gonna tip this out over and usually it will slide out that way. But if it's tight in there, you can use that ring attached to it and that'll allow you to pull out that pin. I've got my 2-5/16" hitch ball. Let me swap it out for my 2" ball. You wanna make sure that you line up the holes here, just like that. And then I'm gonna go ahead and replace the pin. And then that's just gonna slide all the way in. You wanna make sure that that ring is in that cavity there. And then just replace it on my shank. And I'm gonna go ahead and take my dual pin slider lock, line up the hole, slide that into place. I hope you can get a feel that everything is just a very smooth operation. You're not gonna be at the back of your truck struggling to get that height adjustment or struggling to get the ball size that you're looking for. Everything is gonna operate very smoothly. You do have four keys. That one key is going to work with the dual pin slider lock. And then a favorite feature here of mine is occluded here, a hitch pin lock. So one key will operate both and you'll have basically three backup keys. And this is really gonna do a great job of being really giving you maximum threat deterrent, protecting the investment that you're making here. You're gonna be able to lock this to your trailer hitch receiver, lock the ball platform to the shank. Speaking of this being an investment, this is a premium hitch. It's constructed of aircraft grade aluminum. It's gonna give you superior strength and durability. This features this premium black Cerakote finish. The finish is a ceramic coating that's going to give you an extra layer of corrosion resistance, scratch protection, and durability. So not only does this finish make this hitch look great on the back of your truck, but if you happen to tow in harsh environments such as salty winter roads or extreme weather conditions, this durable finish is gonna do a great job of keeping this looking great and working properly for many years to come. Now let me go ahead and give you some measurements just so you have a good idea of the size and clearance. Measuring from the center of our first hitch pin hold to the center of our ball, about 8-1/2", from the center of the second hitch pin hole to the center of the ball, about 9-5/8". And then from the center of the second hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, about 1-7/8". So this is gonna be a great option for you to consider if you demand reliability, safety and durability, especially with this premium finish. And this is also going to be great for you if you're a seasoned RV owner or simply someone who tows on a regular basis. This hitch is designed to offer precise tongue weight measurement and really giving you superior corrosion resistance with flexible fitment and very easy usability. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
Trailer hitch is in great shape and anything/everything I buy from etrailer is just like this! Great trailer hitch for up north as it will not rust easily like my steel ones have in the past.
