Remember when gauging your trailer's tongue weight was such a hassle? It often involved wrestling with bathroom scales, which were far from accurate, or making a trip to the weigh station, which took time and effort. Or you had to buy a separate scale. With a Weigh Safe Hitch, it's super-simple. Just hook up your trailer to the ball mount like you would with any other hitch. The moment you connect, the weight of your trailer pushes down on the hitch ball, automatically giving you a measurement on the easy-to-read gauge. It's quick, hassle-free, and takes the guesswork out of towing. Now you can focus on the road ahead instead of worrying about whether your load is balanced.
The Weigh Safe Hitch can be used in either the drop or rise position to best suit your needs.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Weigh Safe Built-In Scale Hitch with two Stainless Steel Balls for your three-inch hitch receiver. Now, this ball mount is going to slide into your three-inch hitch receiver, and it's going to give you two stainless steel balls. You're gonna get the 2 5/16 inch and the two inch ball, and this is going to give you, in this orientation, a maximum drop of eight inches, and then when you flip this over, you're gonna get a maximum rise of nine inches with incremental adjustment of one inch, so this is going to give you the height adjustability that you're looking for so you can tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle. Now, when you are using the 2 5/16 inch hitch ball, the gross towing capacity is going to be 21,000 pounds. With the two inch ball, it's gonna be 8,000 pounds.
This has a maximum tongue weight of 2,200 pounds. So, the star of the show is this built-in tongue weight scale that you see right here, and this is built right into the ball platform, and that's gonna help you balance your trailer for safer towing. This scale is going to let you know if your load needs to be adjusted before you tow. It's a very simple operation. This is going to automatically give you a measurement every time you couple your trailer.
So, this is going to be efficient, it's gonna be hassle-free and it's going to eliminate the need for separate or commercial scales. This also features this dual-pin slider lock that's gonna make adjusting the height very simple. I'm gonna go ahead and remove this black cover here that you'll put in place to protect that keyway there. You are going to get four keys here and they're all gonna be keyed alike, so the idea is you use one key for the dual-slider lock and also for the hitch-pin lock, which we'll talk about momentarily, but let me go ahead and insert the key here and just show you how this works. So, I've inserted the key, I'm gonna give that a turn and then that's going to allow me to remove the slider lock.
So, what we have here are these dual pins. They are aluminum, along with the housing here, and then that lock is plated steel, so this is going to be very durable, it's gonna hold up really well against corrosion. And then once I have those pins removed, you can see how easy this is going to be to adjust this to whatever height you're going to need. And while we have the pins out here, I do wanna show you how easy it is to swap out the ball. So, right now I have the two inch ball installed.
So, you can either tip this over and that pin's gonna slide right out, or if it doesn't slide out right away, it has a little key ring there that you can pull on and pull that pin out. So, I'm gonna take out the two inch ball and I'm gonna go ahead and slide in my 2 5/16 inch hitch ball, and you do wanna make sure that you line up the holes just like that, and then I'm going to replace the pin. There we go. And then you just wanna make sure that that ring is flush. And then that's how easy it's going to be to swap out the balls. And so I'm gonna go ahead and replace the shank. So, again, I'm very impressed with just how smooth everything operates. Lemme go ahead and replace my pins here, and we'll turn the key, lock it into place, and then replace my cover here. Obviously, all this is gonna be even more smooth when you have this in your trailer hitch receiver. So, this hitch is constructed of aircraft-grade aluminum giving you that superior strength and durability. The solid block construction is gonna give you greater strength than some hollow steel options, but this is gonna maintain a light weight and this is going to be rust-proof for a clean finish. It's going to stand the test of time, so if you've got a trailer that you're using around the water a lot, this is gonna be a great option to consider, especially your boat trailers. Now, I mentioned the locking hitch pin that's included, it's got a little cap here to protect that keyway, and let me just go ahead and unlock this. So, just gonna insert the key, give it a turn. That's gonna unlock this head here. Now, I'm gonna go ahead and lock this back up and remove the key, and I wanted to show you that you do not need the key in the lock to lock this back into place, which I really like about this, so very convenient to use. So, once you're ready to lock up your hitch, you're just gonna slide that pin in and then as you can see in here, it's locked, so you don't need the key inserted to lock that up, so that's good to go. So, again, four keys, they're all keyed alike, and lemme give you some measurements just so you have a good idea of the size and the clearance. So, measuring from the center of the hitch ball to the center of our first hitch pin hole, we're sitting about 8 1/2 inches, then moving to the center of our second hitch pin hole, about 9 5/8 inches, and then from the center of our second hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, about 1 7/8 inches. (base swooshing) This is B5 and J684-certified. And I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
