Remember when gauging your trailer's tongue weight was such a hassle? It often involved wrestling with bathroom scales, which were far from accurate, or making a trip to the weigh station, which took time and effort. Or you had to buy a separate scale. With a Weigh Safe Hitch, it's super-simple. Just hook up your trailer to the ball mount like you would with any other hitch. The moment you connect, the weight of your trailer pushes down on the hitch ball, automatically giving you a measurement on the easy-to-read gauge. It's quick, hassle-free, and takes the guesswork out of towing. Now you can focus on the road ahead instead of worrying about whether your load is balanced.
The Weigh Safe Hitch can be used in either the drop or rise position to best suit your needs.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Weigh Safe built-in scale hitch with two stainless steel balls for your 2 inch hitch receiver. Now, this ball mount will slide into your 2 inch hitch receiver and you're gonna receive one 2 5/16ths inch ball and a 2-inch ball, and these balls are stainless steel. And this is also going to give you a maximum drop in this orientation of 8 inches. And then when you flip this over, you'll get a maximum rise of 9 inches.
And this has incremental adjustment of 1 inch. So you're gonna be able to get that height adjustability so you can tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle. Now, when you use the 2 5/16ths inch hitch ball, the gross towing weight is going to be 12,500 pounds. With the 2 inch ball, it's gonna be 8,000 pounds and this has a maximum tongue weight of 1,500 pounds. And so, this features a tongue weight scale that is actually built into the ball mount platform.
So, this is going to help you balance your trailer for safer towing. The scale is gonna let you know if your load needs to be adjusted before you tow. And what's great about this, it's a very simple operation. This will automatically provide a measurement every time you couple your trailer. So this is efficient, it's hassle free.
It's gonna eliminate the need for separate or commercial scales. This also features a dual pin slider lock that's going to make adjusting the height very simple. So, I'm gonna remove this included rubber cover. This provided just to protect that keyway from dirt and debris. And I'm gonna tip this over so I can see.
I'm gonna use one of the keys here to turn it. And then, that's going to allow me to remove the dual pin slider lock. While I have this out, I wanted to show you that the pins here are aluminum along with the housing here. And then, our lock is plated steel. So this is durable, it's going to be corrosion resistant. It's gonna hold up really well for you. And so, with that removed you can see that I'm able to freely adjust this without any issues whatsoever. And I'm gonna go ahead and remove this. I also wanted to show you that this is stowable, so you could put it back like this and just line up the holes to replace the pins. And so when you're not needing to use this, as you can see, you can just put the ball back here and run those pins through and you're not gonna have to worry about damaging your shins when you are walking behind your truck. Now while I have this out, I wanted to show you how easy it was to swap out the balls here. So, I'm gonna go ahead and just tip that over a little bit. That's going to allow the pin to come right out. If the pin doesn't come right out like that, it does have a ring here where you can pull the pin out. And I'm gonna swap out my 2 5/16th inch hitch ball for the 2 inch ball. I'm gonna line up the holes just like that, and then replace the pin. (pin clinking) There we go. And make sure that ring is flush. And then, lemme bring my shank back in here. And then, now I can use the 2 inch ball and make the height adjustment that I need and be on my way. I'm gonna replace the pins here. (pins clinking) And what I really do like about this is you can see just how smoothly everything operates. You're not gonna be at the back of your vehicle struggling to make those adjustments or to change the ball size. You're gonna have everything adjusted the way that you need it in virtually no time at all. Now this hitch is constructive aircraft grade aluminum giving you superior strength and durability. The solid block construction's gonna give greater strength than a lot of hollow steel options while maintaining a light weight. This is going to be rust proof and the clean finish is going to stand the test of time. So, if you're gonna be around the water a lot with your truck or trailer, this is gonna be an ideal option for you to consider. It'd be great for boat trailers. Now, I also wanted to point out that this does include a locking hitch pin, and this is gonna be very simple to use. And you are going to get four keys, and all of these keys are keyed alike. So, the idea here is one key is going to be able to operate the hitch pin lock and the slider lock there, but you are going to get four. So, I'm gonna go ahead and unlock this. And what I like about this hitch lock is you don't need the key inserted into the head here to lock this back up. So, the head's already locked. And so, when you're ready to replace this and lock this into your trailer hitch receiver, all you gotta do is push it together and it's automatically locked. So, you don't need the key to lock that back up. And then just to give you some overall measurements, measuring from the center of our first hitch pin hole to the center of our ball, we're sitting at about 8 1/2 inches. Moving to the center of the second hitch pin hole to the center of the ball, 9 5/8ths inches. And then, from the center of the second hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, about 1 7/8ths inches. This is V5 J684 certified. And I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
