Remember when gauging your trailer's tongue weight was such a hassle? It often involved wrestling with bathroom scales, which were far from accurate, or making a trip to the weigh station, which took time and effort. Or you had to buy a separate scale. With a Weigh Safe Hitch, it's super-simple. Just hook up your trailer to the ball mount like you would with any other hitch. The moment you connect, the weight of your trailer pushes down on the hitch ball, automatically giving you a measurement on the easy-to-read gauge. It's quick, hassle-free, and takes the guesswork out of towing. Now you can focus on the road ahead instead of worrying about whether your load is balanced.
The Weigh Safe Hitch can be used in either the drop or rise position to best suit your needs.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Weigh Safe built-in-scale with two stainless steel balls for your three-inch hitch receiver. Now this ball-mount is going to slide into your three-inch hitch receiver and give you two-inch and 2 5/16th-inch stainless steel balls that are gonna allow you to easily change the ball size for your tow needs. And this is also going to give you a six-inch drop in this orientation, so maximum of six-inch drop. And then when you flip this shank over, you'll get a maximum of seven-inch rise and you'll have incremental adjustments of one inch. So this is gonna give you that height adjustability that you're looking for so you can tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle.
Now, when you use the 2 5/16th-inch hitch ball, you're gonna get a gross-towing weight of 21,000 pounds. With the two-inch ball, you'll get a gross towing weight of 8,000 pounds and this has a maximum tongue weight of 2,200 pounds. And, so, this does feature a tongue-weight scale that is built into the ball-mount platform that's gonna help you balance your trailer for safer towing. The scale is gonna let you know if your load needs to be adjusted before you tow. It's gonna be a very simple operation.
This will automatically provide a measurement for you every time you couple your trailer. So, it's efficient, it's hassle-free, it's going to eliminate the need for a separate or commercial scales. This also features this dual-pin slider lock that's going to make adjusting the hide very simple. So let me remove this black rubber cover here that's used to protect that keyway there. And I'm gonna take one of the keys here and just slide that key in, give it a turn.
And then that's going to allow me to easily remove this dual-pin slider lock. I wanted to point out that our pins and the housing are aluminum and then our lock here is plated steel. So this is gonna be, also, very durable and hold up really well against corrosion. And, so, as you can see, (metal scrapes) you're gonna be able to slide this up and down very easily to get that height adjustment that you're looking for. And I also wanted to show you just how easy it is to swap out the ball.
So, I'm using my 2 5/16th-inch ball right now. So I'm just gonna tip this over and you can see that ring there. So, sometimes that pin will just slip out. If it doesn't, you can just use that ring there and pull that pin out, just like so. And then that's going to allow me to remove the 2 5/16th-inch hitch ball. And then I'm gonna slide in the two-inch ball, I'm gonna line up the holes here, (metal scrapes) just like that. And then let me go ahead and slide this pin back in. And then I'm just gonna make sure that that ring is flush. And then I'm gonna bring my shank back in here. (metal clangs) And then just as easy as that, I'm on to my two-inch ball. And then let me go ahead and replace the pins here. Just line up the holes. And I hope you notice just how smooth everything works. You're not gonna be struggling at the back of your truck to make those adjustments. I'm really pleased with just how smooth everything slides in and out of place and, so, no problem whatsoever. It's gonna be very quick to adjust. Now this also does come with a locking-hitch pin. You do get four keys here and all four of these keys are keyed alike, so the idea is you can use one key for the dual-pin slider lock and then the same key for our hitch lock here. So I'm just gonna open up this cap here that's gonna protect that keyway, slide the key in, and that's gonna allow me to unlock it just like that. And then I wanted to show you what I really like about this hitch lock, I'm gonna turn that key back to the lock position, remove the key. You can lock this without having to keep the key inserted into that lock. So, once you get your hitch into place into your hitch receiver, you're just gonna slide this through and then that's just going to lock just like that without the key. So, saves time, very convenient and I really do like that feature. Some locks you have to keep the key in. That's not the case with this. So, this hitch is constructed of aircraft-grade aluminum. It's gonna give you that superior strength and durability. The solid-lock construction gives you greater strength than some hollow steel options, while also maintaining a light weight. This is gonna be rust-proof for a clean finish that's gonna stand the test of time. This is gonna be great for trailers that are used around the water, such as your boat trailers. You're not gonna have to worry about rust or corrosion with this. So, let me give you some measurements before we wrap up our time together. Measuring from the center of our first hitch-pin hole to the center of the ball, we're sitting at about 8 1/2 inches. If you move to the center of the second hitch pin-hole, 9 5/8 inches, and then from the center of the second hitch-pin hole to the end of the shank, about 1 7/8 inches. This is V5 and J684-certified. And I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
