Specs:
The Pro Series Pilot comes equipped with time-delayed braking. Every time you apply the brakes in your vehicle, a signal is sent - via the brake switch - to the Pilot. The controller then sends power out to your trailer brakes to activate them with an intensity set by you, at a rate determined by you. The amount of braking power (output) can be adjusted to suit your preference, the road conditions, the type of trailer, and the weight of your load. To determine which levels are best for your application, test your towing setup and choose what feels right.
Braking output is the maximum amount of power that will be applied to your trailer's brakes. How much braking output you need is determined by the weight of your trailer; a heavier trailer will need more power to bring it to a stop. You want to set the braking output as high as you can without locking up the brakes. Once you've set up the brake controller the first time, you shouldn't need to adjust the settings until the trailer load changes, you switch trailers, or road conditions change. Use the thumbwheel on the side to change the braking output level. The output setting will appear as a number on the digital display, with a higher number indicating higher braking power.
The Pro Series Pilot keeps the manual override within easy reach on the front of the module, great for stopping sway or controlling your trailer's momentum in emergencies. Push the slide-bar to activate the trailer's brakes and brake lights without you having to apply the brakes on your tow vehicle, perfect for limiting trailer movement while you're cruising.
Because inertia plays no role in the functioning of this controller, you do not have to mount the unit at any particular angle. Your mounting options are limitless, so long as you can still easily access the controller and manual override. The Pilot is especially flexible; its microprocessor allows the controller to even be mounted upside down, and it will still give you a readable display. The Pilot can go wherever you need it. Plus, the included wiring adapter eases installation overall. The custom connector end plugs into the port on your vehicle and the other end plugs into the controller.
You can use etrailer's exclusive 7- and 4-way brake control installation kit (ETBC7 - sold separately) if you don't already have a 7-way plug at the back of your vehicle.

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for electric brake controllers. This is going to allow you to easily connect your brake controller to your vehicle. The black end is going to connect to your brake controller at the back of that controller, just plugs right in and snaps into place. The other end, or the gray end, is going to plug into your vehicle. Now this is custom fit to work with your GMC Sierra 1500, with the factory tow package, as well as the Chevy Silverado 1500, with the tow package, and that's from years 2019 and newer. So this is going to mount up to a port underneath the dash on your driver's side. It's just going to plug right in, has this little tab right there, so you can release that. The nice thing about this adapter is that we don't have to cut or splice anything.
You just plug in both ends and you're ready to go. That also makes it easy to remove this, if you don't want to have your brake controller in your truck all the time. You can easily unplug it, plug it back in, you're good to go.It is going to be custom fit for your vehicle, so you just match up the pins and the plug itself to that harness. It's going to be, again, underneath the driver's side dash, kind of up towards the left side or the kick panel on your driver's side there. You might have to reach up underneath the dash and cut a little bit of tape to get it to come down, but that's where you'll plug this in.
You just want to basically look for anything that's going to match this directly. This is going to be compatible with brake controllers, time delayed. CT-3001-Z It'll work with the Draw-Tite Activator 1, 11 and 111, as as well as the Tekonsha PowerTrac, and it's also going to work with proportional brake controllers, including the Tekonsha Prodigy, the Tekonsha P2, the P3, the Tekonsha Primus IQ, as well as the Tekonsha Voyager. This is just to be a really easy solution to get your brake controller in your vehicle and on with your life. That's going to do it for our look at the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for electric brake controllers.
good value but the swivel mount being optional should be made more clear
After working with your team, I was able to find my plug on 2023 GMC Sierra. It was cleverly disguised with a fake plug adapter probably to keep it from damage. Once found it was truly a plug and play situation. Your team were amazing. Thank You. Your team is why I continue to work with you.

easy to use brake box
Great product
I haven't had this brake controller installed yet, but it looks like it's fairly straight forward and easy to do, even for someone that's not very mechanically inclined. We'll see how it goes. I received the brake controller device and the wiring device in minimum time, very quick to arrive!!
This was installed and working within 15 minutes of receiving it in the mail, it was so easy to install, and ordering it was a breeze with the help and knowledge from Stacey at your order desk, thank you Stacey.
I needed a harness adapter to move my Tekonsha brake controller from my old pickup to my new one. The customer service folks at etrailer quickly helped me with the exact one I needed and it was in my hands three days later, perfect fit and I’m up and running. Etrailer has been my go-to for all my trailering and RV needs hot several years and they’ve always come through!
Exact fit. Made installing trailer brake a breeze
Quick delivery. I had someone install the brake controller but they appreciated the harness and said it made the job quicker.
I had the Primus IQ trailer braking system in my 2018 GMC pickup. When I traded it in and got a 2021 GMC I needed to update the wiring harness The unit worked fine but the harness was different. So I ordered a new direct connect harness and it was simple as plug and play! The Primus IQ braking system works absolutely perfectly as I said all I needed to do was update the harness and I was able to move the trailer braking system from the 2018 to the 2021 GMC pickup. The installation of the whole thing took a matter of minutes. Very impressed with the braking system as well as the information given to me from etrailer on how to do it. A technical support staff and front office folks are very attentive and educated on the products that they sell. I'm a return customer many times over and appreciate all they do.
the controller has great reviews, I got it because my factory controller wasn't working well with the new camper that has electric/hydraulic brakes and I was experiencing a 5 second lag for the trailer brakes to come on. this controller works better with a 2 to 3 second lag, need to try a couple different combos on settings, have the boost at 3 (per recommendations) and gain at 2.5 and under hard braking it locks up the trailer tires. going to try boost on 2 and bump up the gain and see if that works better.
I've installed 3 plug in Tekonsha adapters for 3 different vehicles and found them all to be to specifications making the installation a breeze
We added the Prodigy 2 as an aftermarket controller to our 2019 Chevy Suburban that we use to tow a climbing wall, kayak trailer and bike trailer. Installation was as simple as can be and it makes the towing experience much nicer. The only hiccup was that there was a hiccup with what adapter the system thought we needed and so we were sent the wrong one. Fortunately, etrailers customer service was top notch and they resolved the issue and made everything right!
I used this wire harness on a 2019 GMC truck to connect a trailer brake controller. After removing the protective cover from the truck's under dash connector I was able to plug in the harness with no issues.
