Question:

The truck has the plug at the bumper. When connected to a trailer everything works but the brakes. Bought the truck used but the controller was removed and needs to be replaced.

Even though your 2019 Chevy Silverado does not have the tow package it should still have a 7-way trailer wiring connector at rear of it. Is that correct or is there no trailer wiring at all?

Now I understand better what you are looking for so thank you for getting me that info. What you need is a brake controller and the correct install harness for it for your 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500. For that I highly recommend the Prodigy P2 part # 90885 which is widely considered the best brake controller around due to it being very reliable and has an advanced inertia sensor that can tell how hard you are applying the truck brakes. To install it all you'd need is the # 3064-P and you'd be set.
