Installation of Electric Brake Controller on 2012 Isuzu NPR Connect

Thanks for your reply. I am bewildered on this particular install. 1.- I connected the wiring on the controller as per manufacturers instructions. 2.- I located the brake switch and tested the terminals for power. Which the ignition switch off and key off the switch I got power to the green with white wire at the connector. No power anywhere in the plug, the tester is connected to a ground bolt in the cab and I’m probing for power + wire. 3.- when plug is connected to switch and vehicle off I press the pedal and get lights on the brake lights on back of the truck. 4.- using a piece of wire I connected the green/white wire from the electrical plug to the original spot in the switch. Then I pressed in the pedal and got power on the spot where the black wire connects. 5.- thinking I got it figured out I reconnect the plug to the switch and tap in the blackwire to get signal to the controller and BAM!! I’m done. WRONG! I have constant power to the green wire when the pedal is not pressed, I get power on the other end when tested as described above, when the plug is connected to the switch I got power on the green side constantly so if I tap into the green at this point the controller will apply the brakes when truck is off. Now when I press de pedal I loose power in the green wire so I have no signal to the controller when I depress de pedal. Where did the power go? I think I’m just going to add another switch to the pedal bracket and feed it constant power to get active when the pedal is pressed. I thought about burning the vehicle. Ha ha.

For your Pilot 2-6 Brake Electronic Brake Controller - Time Delayed # 80550, you will need to connect the black power wire to the battery of your vehicle using a circuit breaker like # PK54530 and # 12-1-1 wire. Then you will connect the red wire on your controller to the cold side of your brake light switch. From my research it looks like that is the green with white tracer, but you can check it with your circuit tester # PTW2993. The correct wire will show no power when the brake pedal is at rest, but will show signal when the brake pedal is activated.
If you don't have any of the brake controller wiring yet, I recommend the Universal Kit # ETBC7 which comes with the wire, the connectors, the circuit breakers and the 4-way to 7-way adapter connection.
