Question:

I want to install this brake controller on my 2021 Silverado 3500. My Chevy dealer told me that the truck is prewired for installing a controller, can you tell me what parts Ill need? Thank you

It sounds like you have the factory tow package on your 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500. The # RED63RR is a good start since it comes with the Tekonsha Adapter # 331-TPH-017 for the Tow-Pro Elite. The only other thing you will need is the Tekonsha # 3064-P. One end of this wiring harness will connect to the adapter and the other will plug into your factory tow port under the dash.

I have attached an installation video for your reference.

Hi Robin, I ordered the parts for the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite and the Tekonsha adapter, you listed for my 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500. Mine came with the OEM brake controller, but it doesn't function as smooth as the Redarc I've had in the past. Are there any extra steps I'll need to make the aftermarket brake controller work in place of the OEM brake controller? I've already got the blank plate to remove the OEM controller plate, I'm just wondering if, programming wise, I'll need to do anything to make the swap? Thanks, Jeff

@JeffS it should be a simple swap but if you end up getting errors you will have to take it to the dealer for reprogramming.
