Installing Trailer Brake Controller on 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:

FYI, Chevrolet redesigned the circuit box where you plug in the Tekonsha #3064-P. The only available connector left is one that looks similar to the #3064-P, but it is the female, just like the #3064P. Female to female doesnt work. I want to buy a brake controller, but the cable appears to be a problem. See the attached pictures. I have 2 pictures but its only allowing me to attach one. Thanks!

The Plug-In Wiring Harness # 3064-P that you referenced is the correct brake controller harness for your 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 and it is actually a brand new product for this generation of GM trucks (it currently only fits the 2019 model Silverado and Sierra 1500s).

Based on the picture you attached it looks like you have found the correct port but the cap just hasn't been disconnected from it. This dummy plug can be easily removed by pushing on the release tabs and pulling it off. This will then expose the correct male end of the plug to which the # 3064-P will connect.

I have attached an image that shows exactly where the plug is and what it looks like with the cap removed along with an install video you can follow along with. For the brake controller itself I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 because of its superior LED screen that uses actual words instead of hard-to-decipher codes for its settings and fault messages.

Do they make a plug to split so the up fitter switchers and trailer breaks plug in on a 2020 GMC 1500 code 3064-p plug?

There isn't a harness available that's designed to be wired to the upfitter switch on your Sierra. You will just use the Plug-In Harness # 3064-P to connect the controller to the factory port on your truck.

The factory plug should be somewhere behind the lower left kick panel on the driver's side of your Silveardo. I linked an install video below that does a pretty good job of showing its location - if you continue to have trouble finding it please let me know.
