1998 Pontiac Sunfire - Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights

  • Removable Tail Light Kit
  • Bypasses Vehicle Wiring
  • Magnetic Mount
  • Universal
  • Roadmaster

Avoid tapping into your towed Pontiac Sunfire's electrical system by using these self-contained tow lights. Heavy-duty magnets keep lights securely in place on your towed car.

Features:

  • Allows you to legally tow your car without having to tap into its wiring
  • Eliminates risk of electrical damage to towed car
  • Attaches securely with magnets
  • Connects directly to motor home wiring, bypassing towed vehicle completely
  • Has heavy-duty vinyl casing for superior protection of wiring
  • Meets Department of Transportation standards
  • Fits all vehicles
  • Includes 2 lights and wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector
  • Length of wire:
    • Wire that connects the lights: 53-1/2"
    • Wire that extends out the back of the light: 243"
    • Wire with 4-pole connector: 35-1/2"
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

The law requires that all towed cars have functional signal and brake lights in sync with the RV towing them. Most wiring kits require you to splice into your vehicle's electrical system, but doing this can void your manufacturer's warranty. Magnetic tow lights avoid this problem by having the wiring run underneath your car and plug into your power source.

These lights have worked flawlessly for the whole 2023 camping season on my RV towed vehicle. I mount them on the rear of the roof so they are nice and high above bicycles on a hitch mounted rack.

by:

Extremely happy with the tow bar wiring. Not one problem for the year!

by:
Jeep

They were shipped fast and arrived quickly. These are quality lights with very strong magnets. I installed them on my Jeep in no time after making some steel brackets for the tubular aluminum bumper. Would be nice to have 5 or 6 magnetic clips to place along the wire to secure it to the vehicle. I highly recommend these lights.

2005 Subaru Forester

I like these lights, nice strong magets hold them securely to car roof. I use them because my bikes in bags cover my tail lights. I added LED bulbs because when I tow the car with my RV these additional lights put to much load causing voltage drop and dim lights.

These lights are still working well only improvement I could suggest is if they could somehow maybe put up plastic layer between the magnets and the roof because they’re taking paint off, if they could still make the magnet is strong.

Jeep Wrangler

I purchased the Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs. initially I was Leary of the product because of its low price compared to other tow bars. I now can say my concerns were needless because after flat towing my Wrangler over 5,000 trouble-free miles I have nothing negative but only positives to report. The best thing I like about the tow At is that it only takes 5 minutes to attach and unhook.

by:

Good light set. Works perfectly and has held up well.

by:
2010 Chevrolet Silverado

Everything was delivered on time and worked perfectly. This solved my concerns about towing my car with my RV with a car dolly.

by:

Fast delivery. Did a test as soon as I received the light kit. Flawless. Magnets very strong but safe for car finish.

by:

Heavy duty magnets gave me the security of knowing they wouldn’t come off. Very easy to install!

by:

I did a mock-up set-up and this kit works as advertised.
Magnetic bases are strong, it should fit my needs perfectly.

by:

lights look fine....

easy hitch
is far better than I expected....very nice. I should have gotten this sooner!!!

by:

2011 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Very strong magnets and plenty of length on the cord for a car in tow.

by:

I looked everywhere for these lights. Lots of cheep ones out there for 2-2X $$ but these are the real deal and a great price. Shipment was early and response was great. Thank you for the quality product.

by:

  • What Parts are Needed to Flat Tow a 2007 Chevy Tahoe Behind a Motor Home
The first thing you are going to want to do is consult the vehicle owners manual to determine if your 2007 Chevy Tahoe can be flat towed and if there are any specific requirements, restrictions, or recommendations. As long as your Tahoe isn't a hybrid model use base plate kit # DM9518200. I like the Demco kits beause there's nothing to remove when you're not towing and you can barely see them on the vehicle. For a compatible tow bar use the Dominator # DM9511008 which is rated for 7,500...

  • Are Roadmaster EZ Style Base Plates Compatible with a Roadmaster Eagle 5000 Tow Bar 2011 Ford Edge
First, you will want to consult the vehicle owners manual to determine if the vehicle can be towed and if there are any specific requirements to do so. I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster and he confirmed that the EZ base plates, # 524426-1, are compatible with the Eagle 5000 tow bar. The base plates will fit a 2011 Ford Edge with adaptive cruise control but not if it is an Eco Boost model. The tow bar is also compatible with Roadmaster High-Low adapters like # RM-048-4. • Will Optronics LED Magnetic Tow Lights Protect Against Scratching 2018 Ford Fiesta SE Paint?
The Optronics Magnetic LED Tow Light Kit - Weatherproof - Red Lens - 20' Wiring Harness - Qty 2 # TLL21RK has a protective label pad on the bottom to keep from scratching paint. You can see this at the 2 minute mark of the attached review video. I do recommend wiping down the vehicle with a microfiber cloth before putting the lights on simply to remove any dust or debris that could be abrasive between the scratch free label and the paint for added security.

  • Troubleshooting LED Tow Light Functions Not Working Correctly
It sounds like the issue could be corrosion on your 7-way plug and a good cleaning of the terminals may solve the issue. This may be true even though you have used two separate vehicles to test. It also may be that you have an issue due to the LED lights and you can use the Trailer Connector Adapter w/ Lamp-Out Sensor Bypass - 7-Way RV to 7-Way RV - Vehicle End # 20142 to solve your issue. This will resolve the hyperflashing and allow your lights including blinkers to function properly. If...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2013 Honda CR-V Behind an RV with a Roadmaster Tow Bar
Flat towing vehicle requires base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking. Since you already have a Roadmaster tow bar we can look at compatible base plates for your 2013 Honda CR-V. You can use base plates # RM-521567-4. They are compatible with all Roadmaster tow bars. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you. If you don't already have safety cables I recommend # RM-643. The coiled design of these cables helps keep them off of the ground. • Can I Flat Tow a 2013 Honda Accord or a 2004 Mini Cooper?
I did some research and you'll want to confirm this in the owner's manual of your 2013 Honda Accord, but it appears that all models of the Accord must be towed on a tow dolly in the same manner as your 2009 Altima. Unfortunately it appears that the only vehicle you've listed that can be flat towed is your 2005 Mini Cooper- which considering your leg issues probably isn't your desired option. I still recommend that you consult the owners manual of your Mini before flat towing it to confirm...

I've compiled a brief list of the parts you'll need below: Base Plates- Demco Tabless Base Plates w/ removable arms # DM9519339 (for use with factory steel bumper) or # DM9519336 (for use with factory...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2000 Ford Mustang GT Convertible and 2007 Saturn Aura Behind a Motor Home
As long as your 2000 Ford Mustang is not a Cobra SVT the most cost effective base plates are going to be Blue Ox # BX2159. And for your 2007 Saturn Aura you can use # BX3329 (fits all models including hybrids). For an inexpensive tow bar that will work with both base plate sets you can use the Adventurer, # BX7322. It is rated for 5,000 pounds. It does not include safety cables so you will need to add some separately, # BX88196. You will also need lighting for each vehicle. The easiest...

The truck can be towed with 4 wheels on the ground only if it is a 4x4. If you have a 2-wheel drive model it will have to be put on a tow dolly and towed with the front wheels on the ground and the rear wheels on the dolly. • Wiring, Base Plates, Tow Bar and Accessories Needed to Flat Tow a 1997 Ford Ranger
To flat tow your 1997 Ford Ranger behind a motor home, you will need a special wiring set up. A regular wiring harness will not work. There are a couple of options for you. First, if you will not be towing the truck very often, I recommend using a magnetic light kit like # RM-2120. If you will be towing the truck frequently, I recommend a diode kit, # RM-154. • How to Tow a 2000 Chevy S10 Behind a Motor Home as Inexpensively as Possible
There is certain equipment required by law to flat tow a vehicle. That equipment includes base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking. If you just need to tow the 2000 Chevy S10 once or twice, the expense is likely not worth it. But if you flat tow the truck often behind a motor home then you are going to need these items. Check the S10 owners manual to see if it can be dolly towed (with the front wheels up on a dolly). If so you could rent or otherwise obtain...
