Question:

Is the draw tite front mounted hitch 65009 the right hitch and how does it hook to a motor home. I am looking for a hitch to put on my jeep and tow it behind my motor home

For towing your 1998 Jeep Cherokee behind your motor home you would want Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, part # 1418-1.

The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 65009, is the correct front mount hitch for your Jeep, but it would not be the correct attachment point for towing your Jeep with your motor home. You would want to use a base plate kit like I recommended above.

You will also need the following to complete your tow setup:

RoadMaster Sterling All Terrain Tow Bar with 6-Wire Electric Cord, part # RM-576
For a permanent lighting solution you would want a Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, part # RM-154
For a temporary lighting solution you would want a Magnetic Towing Light Kit, 20 ft. Long Cord, part # RM-2120

I attached a link on tow bar lighting below for you to check out also.

You may also need a supplemental braking system for your towed vehicle, if so, I would recommend you get a Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Proportional Braking System, part # RM-9400.

Some states require a supplemental braking system in towed vehicles, you should check your local laws and regulations for that, as well as any other state you plan on towing your Jeep through.
