Magnetic LED Tow Lights

A towed vehicle is required by law to have functional brake and signal lights that illuminate at the same time as the brake and signal lights on the motorhome or RV that is towing it. These removable tow lights make it easy to add running lights, brake lights, and turn signals to your towed car or trailer.

Simply mount the lights on your vehicle's trunk or roof with the heavy-duty magnetic bases. A 63" long section of wiring connects the tow lights, giving you enough slack to position the lights where you want them. Then run the 245" long wiring harness up to the front of your towed vehicle and across your tow bar and connect it to the 4-way flat on your RV.

If your RV doesn't have a trailer connector, then you can wire the extra 35" long 4-way harness that comes with this kit to your RV. And if your RV has a 6-way or 7-way trailer connector, an adapter (sold separately) will be required to connect the tow lights to your RV.

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

The wiring length should be increased by at least five feet. We have a small vehicle and still needed to use an extension. Otherwise it is a terrific solution.

Have not used yet but I think it will be great

by:

Bought these magnetic trailer lights for my hitch-mounted e-bike rack. With two bikes on the rack, the rear car lights are partly obscured. These lights attach firmly to the rack with the magnets but I will secure them with straps as the rack surface is rounded. Plenty bright. Haven’t gone any distance yet, but I will drive reassured that the cars behind will better see my braking and turning.

Just fine!

These work fine and are bright. I plant them behind my toad's roof rack and add a little duck tape for security. I have lost other ones before. It may be overkill on these as magnet is good.

I've seen magnetic tow lights before but not like these LED's. As soon as they arrived I opened them up, checked them out and they are very well built, the magnets seem very firm and they are BRIGHT. The video on the ETrailer site does no represent how bright these light are in my opinion. Very pleased with the quality and how visible these lights are.

  • Adding LED Lights To A Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 4
We have definitely seen customers do this and modify racks like the EasyFold # TH903202 before using the LED kit part # 98174LED and the brackets # BK70BB to mount. You will also need some self-tapping screws # FA1131822, or drill and use the hardware of your choice to mount the brackets. Doing modifications on the Sport Rider SE 4 # HR1400Z can cause a voiding of the warranty so that's worth checking out with Hollywood Racks before taking this on. Another option to consider that doesn't...

  • Recommended Parts to Flat Tow 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe Behind Class C Sunseeker Motorhome
I am happy to recommend the items you'll need to safely flat tow your 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe with 2.4L engine and manual transmission behind your 2010 Sunseeker Class C motorhome. If you have a different version of the car that cannot be flat towed you might instead be able to use a tow dolly. First you'll need base plates on the car. The Blue Ox kit # BX2719 is currently the only one available that will fit. With it you can use their reliable Nighthawk tow bar # RM-677 that stores on...

  • What Parts Needed to Use a Roadmaster Falcon 5250 Tow Bar on a 2007 Jeep Wrangler for Flat Towing
Flat towing your Jeep Wrangler behind your Class A motor home will require the tow bar, a lighting/wiring kit, safety chains, base plates and a supplemental braking system. The linked article will give you background on each of these. The Quick Disconnect system for Roadmaster tow bars consists of both vehicle-side and tow-bar-side parts. Car-side brackets are available alone as part # RM-222 and tow bar-side brackets as part # RM-221. The complete bracket kit is part # RM-201; this includes...

  • 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe Flat-Towing Parts Recommendations
To flat-tow your Hyundai Santa Fe you need 5 items. You will need base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, lighting for the towed vehicle, and most states now require supplemental brake systems. For base plates I recommend the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, part # 1619-1. The tow bar I recommend is the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, part # RM-520. For safety cables I recommend part # RM-643. these are 68-inch coiled safety cables. For lighting I recommend the Magnetic LED Tow Lights, part...

  • Do Vehicle Taillights Need to Function If Vehicle is Towed with Tow Dolly
Generally, you don't need additional lighting when using a tow dolly that already has lights. However, it's not a bad idea to check with the local laws in the states you'll be traveling in. If you do need to have lights on the vehicle you could use the magnetic LED tow light kit part # TLL21RK and to add a 4-way to your tow vehicle's wiring you would want the part # 18252 which would wire into the current trailer wiring.

  • Tail Lights Covered By Bike Rack Solution
The lights on the Demco Tow Lights w/ Wiring Harness # DMKKLB do not adjust from the vertical 180° position. The feet on # DMKKLB do adjust positions left and right for different angles. I recommend using the Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights # RM-2120 to alleviate your blocked tail lights. The harness plugs into your 4 way flat trailer harness and uses magnetism to secure to the back of your vehicle. If you have nothing for the magnets to stick too, you can use # 3378895404 to fix...

It sounds like you have most of what you need to flat tow your 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. To flat-tow any vehicle you need base plates, tow bar, safety cables, wiring for lights, and braking system. The base plate you have is the Roadmaster XL, Item # 1528-3. Unfortunately, this base plate kit is not a confirmed fit for your vehicle. Each towed vehicle needs specific plates that mount to it so that the flat-towing is safe for it and the RV. If a motorcycle on a hitch mounted carrier is blocking your vehicle's tail lights and turn signals then it will be illegal to use in day or night. You'll need to find a way to mount them though. Another option is a magnetic light kit. The Magnetic LED Tow Lights # TLL21RK plug into the vehicle's...

I have linked for you the written installation instructions and also a video showing an application in a 2014 Equinox.
