Question:
Presently I have installed on my RV a Tekonsha braking system. I would like to keep the system just in case i decide to tow a trailer. Presently I would like to tow a 2008 Toyota and have purchase the PK12720 and used the exciting wires from the 7 pin flat connector and hook the wires as such: A blackT brown G whiteL yellowR green S Blue. Now can I use this exciting wiring configuration to tow my Toyota that has identical wiring except for the S Blue. If so will I have to disconnect the Tekonsha unit. As an insurance I have a Brake Buddy Classic with wireless remote and of course a breakaway. Any input would be deeply appreciated. Thanks.

Trailer brake controllers such as the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 are for use with trailers that have either electric or electric-over-hydraulic brakes but they are not suitable for use when flat-towing a vehicle. The presence of the trailer brake controller in your RV does not affect flat towing.
Flat towing a car behind an RV requires several components: tow bar, safety cables, base plates and wiring/lighting for the towed car and a supplementary braking system like your Brake Buddy Classic. The linked article on flat towing may be helpful since it covers each of these items.
Usually (but not always) a blue wire is used for a trailer brake circuit. It is always best to test with a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to confirm what each wire's function actually is. The linked article on trailer wiring will help show you the most common wiring arrangements.
In terms of wiring options the simplest choice by far is a magnetic lighting kit. These are easy to install and remove and they do not require you to alter the wiring in your towed vehicle. For example, Optronics offers their # TLL21RK which connects using a 4-pole flat trailer connector.
