2007 Jeep Compass - Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights

  • Removable Tail Light Kit
  • Bypasses Vehicle Wiring
  • Magnetic Mount
  • Universal
  • Roadmaster

Avoid tapping into your towed Jeep Compass's electrical system by using these self-contained tow lights. Heavy-duty magnets keep lights securely in place on your towed car.

Features:

  • Allows you to legally tow your car without having to tap into its wiring
  • Eliminates risk of electrical damage to towed car
  • Attaches securely with magnets
  • Connects directly to motor home wiring, bypassing towed vehicle completely
  • Has heavy-duty vinyl casing for superior protection of wiring
  • Meets Department of Transportation standards
  • Fits all vehicles
  • Includes 2 lights and wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector
  • Length of wire:
    • Wire that connects the lights: 53-1/2"
    • Wire that extends out the back of the light: 243"
    • Wire with 4-pole connector: 35-1/2"
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

The law requires that all towed cars have functional signal and brake lights in sync with the RV towing them. Most wiring kits require you to splice into your vehicle's electrical system, but doing this can void your manufacturer's warranty. Magnetic tow lights avoid this problem by having the wiring run underneath your car and plug into your power source.

These lights have worked flawlessly for the whole 2023 camping season on my RV towed vehicle. I mount them on the rear of the roof so they are nice and high above bicycles on a hitch mounted rack.

by:

Extremely happy with the tow bar wiring. Not one problem for the year!

by:
Jeep

They were shipped fast and arrived quickly. These are quality lights with very strong magnets. I installed them on my Jeep in no time after making some steel brackets for the tubular aluminum bumper. Would be nice to have 5 or 6 magnetic clips to place along the wire to secure it to the vehicle. I highly recommend these lights.

by:
2005 Subaru Forester

I like these lights, nice strong magets hold them securely to car roof. I use them because my bikes in bags cover my tail lights. I added LED bulbs because when I tow the car with my RV these additional lights put to much load causing voltage drop and dim lights.

These lights are still working well only improvement I could suggest is if they could somehow maybe put up plastic layer between the magnets and the roof because they’re taking paint off, if they could still make the magnet is strong.

Jeep Wrangler

I purchased the Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs. initially I was Leary of the product because of its low price compared to other tow bars. I now can say my concerns were needless because after flat towing my Wrangler over 5,000 trouble-free miles I have nothing negative but only positives to report. The best thing I like about the tow At is that it only takes 5 minutes to attach and unhook.

by:

Good light set. Works perfectly and has held up well.

by:
2010 Chevrolet Silverado

Everything was delivered on time and worked perfectly. This solved my concerns about towing my car with my RV with a car dolly.

by:

Heavy duty magnets gave me the security of knowing they wouldn’t come off. Very easy to install!

by:

Fast delivery. Did a test as soon as I received the light kit. Flawless. Magnets very strong but safe for car finish.

by:

I did a mock-up set-up and this kit works as advertised.
Magnetic bases are strong, it should fit my needs perfectly.

by:

lights look fine....

easy hitch
is far better than I expected....very nice. I should have gotten this sooner!!!

Very simple product. Exactly what I wanted. I need to do something more permanent but this worked for our trip. The most important thing was I needed it fast and I got it in time.
Friendly and informative people on the phone were knowledgeable and new their product. I will shop here again.

2011 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Very strong magnets and plenty of length on the cord for a car in tow.

by:

I looked everywhere for these lights. Lots of cheep ones out there for 2-2X $$ but these are the real deal and a great price. Shipment was early and response was great. Thank you for the quality product.

  • Wiring Options for Flat Towing a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Behind a 1986 Gruman/Olsen Delivery Van
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118381, that you have referenced cannot be used in a reverse type of application like you are describing. But there are numerous lighting options for flat towing a vehicle that will work for you. The right wiring application for you will depend on several factors. There are basically two types of wiring solutions for flat towing. Permanent solutions and temporary solutions. If you plan on towing the 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee often, you would benefit from...

  • Can A Magnetic Light Kit be Used at the Same Time as a Tow Dolly Light Kit
As long as the power draw from the lights on the tow dolly and the magnetic lights does not exceed the amperage rating of the tow package wiring on the RV then you can just tap the magnetic kit into the tow dolly wiring harness. What I recommend is to tap into the tow bar wiring using the short wiring harness in # RM-2120 that you referenced. That way when it is not needed you can just put the cap on it and secure it to the tow dolly or RV. But you must make sure that the combined power...

The base plates you mentioned, part # 3154-1, is designed to fit your 2008 GMC Yukon if it is not a Denali. These are removable drawbars and are virtually invisible when you are not towing your Yukon and are removed. The Roadmaster StowMaster Car-Mounted Tow Bar, part # RM-501 would work well with the 3154-1 base plates on your Yukon. This tow bar has telescoping arms that makes it easy to hook up. I have attached some helpful articles that explain flat-towing and what is required you...

  • Adapter for a 7-Way Connector on a 2010 Toyota Tacoma and a 4-Way on Magnetic Wiring Harness
It sounds like the magnetic kit you have uses a 4-Way flat connector and the truck has a 7-Way blade style connector. There is an adapter you can use. Several as a matter of fact. I have included a link to them for you to view. A simple option like # PK12716 is all you would need. But since you are flat towing, you may need some extra slack so going with a coiled adapter like # HM47065 may be the best way to go.

  • Can a 2011 Kia Sorento 4 Cylinder Flat Tow a 2008 Nissan Versa
I have good news and bad news. First the good news. I can tell you the towing capacity of the 2011 Kia Sorento 4 cylinder. The bad news, it is not enough to tow the 2008 Nissan Versa. The Sorento has a towing capacity of 1650 pounds and a gross combined vehicle weight rating of 5534 pounds. The 6 cylinder Sorento has a capacity of 3500 pounds. We carry several lighting options for the 2013 Ford Edge. I have included a link to them for you to view. A brake light relay may be required depending on the system you choose. A kit that bypasses the vehicle wiring like a magnetic kit # RM-2120 will not require a brake light relay. Any other system will require the brake light relay # RM-88400. You will also want to consult the vehicle owners manual for additional information on flat towing the vehicle. In the research I did I found...

Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual for specific information regarding the recreational towing of your V-dub. You will also need lighting and supplemental braking to flat tow the vehicle. • Wiring for Lights to Tow a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country on a Tow Dolly
There are special wiring harnesses required for flat towing a vehicle. Regular trailer wiring harnesses like # 118300 are not designed to have power flow backwards through them and that would end up blowing the converter (on harnesses with converters) or damage the vehicle wiring and lights on harnesses that do not have converters. It looks like the 2006 Chrysler T and C has a 2-wire system (the turn signals are not separate from the brake lights). There are a couple of ways you can wire...

From the information I found, the 2003 Ford Ranger 4x4 model that is equipped with the manual transmission is able to be flat towed, but you would need to place the transfer case in two-wheel drive high and have the transmission in neutral.
