Question:
Im flat towing my 02 WJ behind an 86 Grumman/Olsen delivery van. Can I use this harness in a reversed application to control the lights on the towed WJ? If so are there any modifications needed? If not do you have a harness for this application or can you make a recommendation? Thank you

The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118381, that you have referenced cannot be used in a reverse type of application like you are describing. But there are numerous lighting options for flat towing a vehicle that will work for you.
The right wiring application for you will depend on several factors. There are basically two types of wiring solutions for flat towing. Permanent solutions and temporary solutions. If you plan on towing the 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee often, you would benefit from a permanent solution such as a bulb kit, # RM-155.
A bulb kit does require enough room inside the tail light lens housing for an extra bulb and socket. You will also need to drill into the back part of the tail light housing in order to mount the bulb and socket.
Another permanent solution is a diode system like # RM-154. With this type of system, you will need to cut and splice into the vehicle wiring system. But once done, it will always be ready for flat towing.
If you do not plan on towing the vehicle often you can use a temporary solution like a magnetic light kit, # RM-2120. The benefit is a quick and easy installation. The lights mount to a metal surface. If no metal surface is available, we also have # TLP01 helpers..
I have included a link to an FAQ article on the various lighting options for you to view. I have also included a link to our series of FAQ articles on flat towing that has a wealth of information, including more on wiring a vehicle to flat tow.
