I did some mods to make the tow lights work for my special application. They were well made and are holding up good. Always a pleasure ordering from e-trailer.

2014 Thor ACE Motorhome

The jury is out on these lights. They seem quite bright and well made, but the first set, identical to this one, had a magnet let go on its first trip, the light fell off and eventually broke the wiring, shorting out my trailer light converter, all of which I discovered when I reached my destination and found a wire dragging behind the trailer and no light to be found. It was not comforting to know that I had been driving at night with no lights at all on the trailer.

Sorry to hear about that. The manufacturer provides a lifetime warranty on these lights so Customer Service will contact you and discuss how to go through with that.

  • Can Peterson Magnetic Tow Lights # PE26UR be Mounted to Side of 2016 Jeep Wrangler
If you have a strong magnetic surface on the side of your 2016 Jeep Wrangler you could very well mount the Peterson Magnetic Tow Lights # PE26UR there. The magnets are very strong for the lights, but we haven't tested them on the side of a vehicle so there isn't a way I can guarantee that it will hold well. You may want to check out these Demco Wireless LED Light Bar for Towed Vehicles Item # DM36MV. They use a suction cup to mount to the inside of a back window if you have one. Since...

  • Is There a Light Kit for the Swagman XP Bike Rack?
Since the Swagman XP # S64960 is made of steel, you can attach magnetic lights to the carrier. For this route, I recommend the Peterson Magnetic Tow Lights - Red # PE26UR. The Peterson lights serve as running lights, brake lights, and turn signals on your bike rack. For installation, the wires will install right into the four-way wiring harness on your 2017 Subaru Outback. If you need a harness, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56040. The harness I suggested is...

  • How To Use 7 Way RV Connector To Power Lights And Charge Battery On Towed Vehicle
I highly recommend installing Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow Adapter # HM48470. This replaces your RV's 7 way and gives you a 7 way AND 4 way flat connection. Then you can hook upMagnetic Tow Lights - Red LEDs - 4-Way Flat Connectors - 20' Long Harness # PE26UR directly to the 4 way flat provided on the adapter. These tow lights have a 20 foot long wiring harness; use 48" Long 4-Pole # HM47115 if you need 4 more feet of wiring. For the charge line going to the towed vehicle's battery, you...

  • Can Automatic Transmission 2012 Ford Focus Be Flat Towed
I did some checking and it looks like the automatic transmission 2012 Ford Focuses can be flat towed as long as you keep it under 70 MPH. I would still recommend checking the owners manual for recommendations on this as well. For a base plate kit you would want the part # RM-524430-5 which is a confirmed fit for your vehicle. See install video. In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle....

  • Light Kit Recommendation for a 4 Bike Platform Rack
I have a solution that would be your easiest option but we don't carry bike rack lighting kits as in most cases bike racks do not block the taillights of a vehicle since they are usually set out wider than the bikes on the rack. The Magnetic Tow Lights - Red LEDs - 4-Way Flat Connectors - 20' Long Harness # PE26UR would be an option that would be pretty easy to make work.

No, there is not going to be any repair options for your magnetic tow lights because the wiring is made with the housing. Instead, you'd need to replace the entire assembly with a new one like the Magnetic Tow Lights # PE26UR.

  • Are Additional Lights Required on Towed Vehicle When Using a Tow Dolly
Generally, you don't need additional lighting when using a tow dolly that already has lights. However, it's not a bad idea to check with the local laws in the states you'll be traveling in and in Canada. Some people like to add additional lights just to make it easier to see the vehicle that's on the dolly. If you wish to add lights, you'll need to splice in a tow light kit, like # PE26UR, because the trailer connector on the back of your RV will already be in use with the dolly. Unless...

I went to the warehouse and pulled the Peterson Tow Light Kit, # PE26UR. It can be placed anywhere that there is metal. It attaches securely with a strong magnet. You can place it anywhere so that it can be seen from the back. A good place is the top of the towed vehicle.
