When roads glaze over or trails turn slick, the V-bar studs on these chains dig in for serious traction. Each cross chain has V-shaped icebreakers that cut through hard-packed snow and frozen surfaces so your tires can grip instead of spin. The ladder-style pattern helps you start and stop smoothly even on steep, icy slopes where normal chains would slip.

In deep snow, the ladder-pattern cross chains give a steady pull that pushes you forward without wheel hop or bogging down. The design puts consistent traction under your tires so you can climb out of ruts or power through drifts. Reviewers say these chains are stout enough that the only time they’ve gotten stuck is from being high-centered, not from losing traction.
Built from low-carbon steel, each 0.281" (7 mm) link handles heavy torque and repeated use on snow-packed or icy ground. The steel twist links are strong and durable, giving you dependable bite whether you’re pulling a load or clearing a path. Their weight and strength give real peace of mind when the conditions turn severe.
When you need traction you can trust—plowing, towing, or hauling on slick surfaces—these chains are ready for it. They’re rated for speeds up to 30 mph and can handle both on-road and off-road conditions. The solid manual connection means there are no cams or levers to shake loose when backing up or bouncing over uneven ground.
For the best fit, use optional rubber or chain adjusters (sold separately) to keep tension on the chains as you drive. A snug chain not only improves traction but helps minimize vibration and wear. Each pair also comes with a reusable canvas storage bag so you can keep them organized and ready for the next storm.

Received within 3 days of order! I have to get up an unplowed road with a big hill. It`s now a sheet of ice. I can come to a complete stop on steepest part, and then just give it some gas, and all the way up. Works excellent! The unique 6 Bungie cord works great.
I had placed an order from trailer for some snow chains for my vehicle. Amy, the customer service representative was extremely friendly, courteous and very helpful. She represented the company in a very professional manner. It's a shame other businesses don't have a rep like her.
Very great set of tire chains , better than I expected , they are heavy duty , and the v-bars are out standing , I would highly recommend then to anybody that needs a good set of tire chains. Great Price , Great Quality , Fast Shipping , Thanks
I called etrailer and talked to Joanne. I've never bought tire chains before so I had no clue what to look for. So Joanne talked to me step by step and helped me find the right set of chains for my truck. She even told me the date they would arrive. I got them a day early. I will definitely shop them for any of my needs- and hope I get to talk to Joanne again!:)
Product is as specified.
I purchased these tire chains from etrailer due to their amazing customer service. they arrived quickly and are very heavy duty. They do not have the cam chain tensioners, which is why i bought these. I will be using these for off road and did not want a cam that could possibly loosen. I have already cut them to length. they came packaged really well. thanks again etrailer......
Great chains! Killer grip. They go on quickly and I learned which links to select to put on once and go without readjustment. They didn't keep me unstuck during that one storm last March where we had 4' of wet stuff, but I'm still learning how to deal with that much snow (or maybe I should just wait to use a skid). I'm driving an F350 with LT275/70r18 tires and can (usually) push whatever I want, including uphill 15% grade.
excellent quality and good price. I've had these over a year now and use the chains occasionally when off-roading with friends in deep snow and/or icy conditions. These have helped me thru terrain that would have been impassable without chains. Highly recommend these for anyone with 35" tires that needs to get thru the roughest winter terrain.
Never needed to use them, but they seem to be well built.
Haven't used my chains yet but did a kind of "dry" fit. They look like they should work on my 285/75-r18 Toyo open country ATII's. Customer service was great and shipping was fast and prompt. Look forward to dealing with these folks again.
Chains were easy to install. I went for a more rugged chain with the cleats, but now wish I got the ones without the cleats for the sake of the roads these may drive on.
Excellent customer service, made order by phone, free delivery in three days, will definitely use etrailer in the future.
Great quality chains at a great price!
I had to get another set of chains for larger tires, this price was comparable to the price I paid for the 17" tires.
I have gone through a foot of snow and over thickly covered icy mountain roads with no slipping. I highly recommend the "V" chains for any icy conditions.
I'm good to go, just waiting for the snow!
Tire chains are exactly as described. Fast shipping.. got them today and put them on my 285/65 r18 tires.. perfect fit. Tried them out in the snow in the backyard, went through almost 8 inches with no problem in 2 wheel drive... cant wait to get out on the frozen lake and put them to the real test on the ice.
I just installed the V-Bar Chains and tried them out on my icy driveway. Wow, the traction is amazing. I installed these on my 1990 Ingersoll hydrive 4014 lawn tractor. The links are twice as thick as most other chains. Easy installation. Call to order as you will be completely satisfied with the people at etrailer as they are awesome to deal with. I highly recommend etrailer. Thank you
All items arrived in good condition in five days on Colorado mountain area, and were easy to install. The products all appear to be of good quality and should perform as expected when used. for 2017 Ram 2500, no enough clearance on rear tires, but no problem on Front tires clearance. Recommend the V-bar links and chain tighteners used on off-road snow and ice, 4 wheels drive, front ties for 2017 Ram 2500
Some Deadly tire chains!! I highly recommend these bad boys to anyone who enjoys driving in the snow!
After spending one day of my snowmobile trip digging out my 2008 F-250, I decided to buy chains to get through a mile of unplowed road to our cabin. I bought the TC3831 with V-bar links and chain adjusters TCMA2s so I could tackle the deep snow with ice underneath. The chains were easy to put on and worked excellent on an unimproved road. The heavy 7mm links did a great job of traction and control. I would recommend to anyone that needs to get a truck and trailer to their snowmobile destination. One recommendation is to check your chain tension after spinning the tires.

Customer service was great in helping me find the chains I wanted for a 37" tire. They arrived less than two days after placing the order and fit great! Can't wait to go get stuck and try them out.
Super stout chains that give me confidence in getting out of less than ideal situations that occur here in Wyoming, in my Jeep Gladiator. The price is great for what you get and the insurance/piece of mind is worth every penny.
I bought a pair of twist link (TC3235) for my front tires and V-Bars (TC3835) for my rear tires, so writing a combined review. The V-Bars have more traction but my front end doesn't have as much clearance so I opted for the twist links in the front. I've now used these offroad 4 times, and once briefly onroad during a major ice storm that left all of our roads with skating rink type ice.
First - both chains fit 37" x 12.5 R18 tires perfectly. This is despite the fitment not being listed on etrailer.com and the etrailer CS rep telling me they wouldn't fit. The Titan catalogue / website does list 37x12.5R18.
Second - two pair of chains *just* fit in a milwaukee packout "Compact Tool Box" (model No: 48-22-8422). There isn't a wasted inch of space. After using them, I dry them in my garage, then douse them in WD-40 before putting them back in the packout. These chains are made from an alloy that prioritizes strength over corrosion resistance, so surface rust appears pretty quickly on them. Be warned that lifting all four chains together is heavy.
Third - They give amazing offroad traction. The only way you're getting stuck is by getting high-centered. You will not run out of traction if you have weight on your tires. However, it is easy to get high centered when using these in the snow if you aren't careful. Don't spin your tires, or your axles and frame rails will be holding the vehicle while your wheels hang in the air.
Fourth - I would only recommend using these onroad in very limited circumstances. During an ice storm I had to get a neighbor to the hospital. We live on an extremely steep hill and the roads had 1" of clear ice on them. With the chains it was like the ice wasn't there. But the whole truck vibrated a lot. And it probably prematurely wore the chains. If I drove faster than ~15-20 mph it really rattled the truck. (offroad in the snow I'll drive 40+ mph no problem with these. but driving on hard surfaces causes a lot of vibration).
