Features to know about

Built for Confident Towing at Real Highway Speeds: Load Range C, 65-mph Rating

When you’re running long hauls or steady highway miles, this setup delivers dependable performance. The Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 bias tire carries a 745-lb maximum load at 90 psi and is rated for speeds up to 65 mph. Both the tire and 8" x 3-3/4" wheel meet Department of Transportation specs, so you can tow knowing the combination is tested for real-world travel demands.

Corrosion Protection That Lasts: Galvanized Steel Wheel

This steel wheel is galvanized for superior corrosion resistance, a must when weather and humidity are part of your routine. The protective finish keeps rust from starting and extends the life of the wheel. The 4 on 4" bolt pattern, zero offset, and 2.5" pilot diameter make the setup straightforward to mount and keep clean over years of use.

Ready to Handle the Weight: Matched Tire and Wheel Capacities

This tire-and-wheel assembly is built to carry its share without strain. The tire’s Load Range C construction supports up to 745 lbs at full inflation, while the wheel itself is rated at 910 lbs. Together they’re matched for reliability on small trailers that need solid weight support through repeated trips or heavy weekend hauls.

Smooth Rolling Over Uneven Ground: Bias Ply Construction with 6-Ply Rating

The bias design uses thick nylon cords laid at a 30–45° angle in alternating layers, creating stiffer sidewalls that help the tire flex evenly across bumps and ruts. That means steadier handling and a smoother ride when trailering on rough or uneven surfaces—exactly what bias ply tires are designed to do.

Extra Assurance When It Counts: 1-Year Worry-Free Guarantee

For extra peace of mind, this tire comes with a 1-year worry-free guarantee. If it’s damaged in any way within the first year, it’ll be replaced at no charge, backed by Kenda’s standard 5-year tire warranty and limited 2-year wheel coverage.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Well….thanks for asking. I actually bought two tires, and they’ve held up well, but I had to take one of them to have the tire remounted on the wheel, as it had gotten unseated and wouldn’t hold air. Other than that, they’ve been fine.

by:

Great tires and galvanized rims, got tired of painting rusty rims and hub size is exact fit. Shipping was fast. I purchased a total of 3 one for my spare. I purchased front hitches rear hitches and many other items in the past.always extremely satisfied. Thanks salesperson George for the care and speedy delivery.

by:

Have had this product and multiple others from etrailer after a boat trailer revamp for about a year now. Fast shipping and good customer service.

by:

The wheels and tires were delivered promptly (a few days) after I ordered them. They fit easily and accurately on my trailer. Easy to install. Used the trailer to haul a small boat several hundred miles, and the tires handled well.

by:

Be informed, the pilot hole is not 2.5" as described in both the written description and the video. It is more like 2 13/16". Even though I have bolts and not lug nuts the wheel worked out for me (I did not return it). I informed customer service and they confirmed the measurement but, as of the time I wrote this review the description has not been changed. Otherwise, it is a great product for the price. Overall service, delivery time, and assistance with the pilot hole issue was great. I only rated 4 stars instead of 5 because the description was wrong.

Ordered two trailer tires with galvanized rims. Site information was spot-on and very helpful prior to purchase. Tires arrived on-time and in great shape. I have purchased from etrailer before, great company service!!!

by:

A year later these tires and wheels are still holding up great. I have them on a small boat trailer and they handle the freeway and windy bumpy back-roads equally well. Would buy again.

by:

good solid trailer jack. easy to assemble and bolt to trailer. Also purchased 2 Kenda tires and 8" galvanized wheels #AM30050. They arrived mounted on rim and fully inflated!!

by:

Purchased in January, with Covid-19, etc. didn't mount them on my boat trailer until April and in July took my first long trip. Trailer performed perfectly with the new tires/rims. Rims are of high quality galvanized steel. Lking forward to great service and long life.

by:

Really pleased with tires and wheels. In the middle of moving to our retirement home... One little trailer full at a time. It's about a 700 mile round trip, and I have well over 5,000 miles on the tires. My trips have me traveling on everything from interstate highways to gravel roads; I've had no problems on any of them. In general, etrailer.com has been my go-to place to get parts for my trailers.

1 year later review.

After a year's
travel on my racing sailboat trailer, the Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 tires and rims are performing to expectations.
I live on the Texas Gulf coast, so I need galvanized rims. These are performing well. No rusting thru, no corrosion, no flaking.
The tires are also performing very well. I frequently travel to racing venues well over 1000 miles away - Iowa, Kansas, N. Dakota, Oklahoma, Florida, Mississippi, Louissiana, and all over Texas. The tires show very little wear, ride smooth, and track well.
FYI, I make a habit of taking every trailer tire - even these tiny 4.80/4.00-8 size - to be balanced at a tire shop before they ever touch the road. My local guy only charges $5 a tire, and to me, it is money well spent.

by:

Excellent trailer tires and wheels that perform flawlessly and last several years for many trips to the reservoir. Price was reasonable and shipping was Blazing fast!
Thank you!!

They have been trouble free. Excellent.

by:

Real, honest-to-goodness Load Range C, as advertised. Steel wheel was made in South Korea and seems to have a very generous galvanizing coating. We'll see how it holds up over the years, but it looks good so far! Rapid delivery, which was free, also appreciated.

These wheels/tires will go on my 35-year old 4x8 utility trailer which gets a lot of use.

Very well. Galvanized wheels show no signs of rust, tires are wearing well, too. Tires now have about 300-500 miles on them, hauling leaves and brush to a local composting facility or trips to a lumber yard. Very pleased with both wear and appearance.

by:

I got a FREE boat, motor and trailer from my son-in-law. After cleaning years of grime and junk off of them, the boat and motor were in good shape but the trailer needed lots of work. I scraped it and painted it but the wheels and tires were too rusty and weather checked to be safe. I ordered three galvanized wheels with Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 tires mounted on them from etrailer.com. They look great and really dress up the whole rig. Shipping was lightning fast and the price was great! I will be ordering from them again in the future!

I don't know how this product can be rated in such a short time so I wont try.
It's trailer tires!!! However, I do rate the purchase experience as excellent.
A quick and easy traction and exceptionally fast delivery. I ordered, on morning and they were shipped by the end of the day. Thank You etrailer!

Used these tires on a highly used, small boat trailer and they seem to be wearing very well. I would purchase again.

by:

Very happy with etrailer. Pricing was great and free shipping! My wheels/tires arrived very well packed and in good condition. Product met all expectations for what I needed on my small boat trailer. I actually was able to purchase a better quality tire for less money than the big online site where I usually do most of my online shopping. I will purchase from this site again.

by:

The tire was a good quality as was the rim. The item assigned the website is exactly the item you got and it has held up well for the first year. I am pleased with the product.

Some tire manufacturers have charts that show what to put the psi rating at when hauling different loads so if your manufacturer has something like that feel free to follow it, otherwise it's best to go with the rating...

  • Can Camper Trailer Weight Capacity Be Increased By Changing Tire Load Range Rating
Thank you for the photo of your camper trailer. When it comes to a trailer's weight carrying capacity the lowest-rated part of the trailer - either the frame, axle, hubs, wheels or tires - will determine if more capacity can be added. If the tires were the lowest-rated component then changing them to another size or simply to a higher load range in the same size could give you more capacity/safety margin. But if the tires are not the "weakest link" then upgrading them does not add capacity...
