Features to know about

Stable Mounting for Reliable Suspension: 3-1/4" Front and 1-1/4" Rear Hangers Hold Strong

When your old suspension mounts start to sag or rust, the trailer’s stability takes a hit. This kit brings it back with solid 3-1/4" tall front hangers and 1-1/4" tall rear hangers made from 3/16" thick steel. They give your double-eye springs a secure mounting point and restore proper geometry so your trailer tracks straight and rides smoothly.

Set It Up Right the First Time: Designed for 2,000-lb to 7,000-lb Single Axles

Getting the spacing right between hangers is key for good suspension travel. This kit is designed for single axles rated from 2,000 lbs up to 7,000 lbs and achieves about 5" to 5-1/2" clearance between the frame and axle depending on axle size. The included table helps you mock it up before welding so you can verify placement before final install.

Durable Hardware That Fits Together Cleanly: Complete Mounting Setup

Everything needed to hang your springs is in one place — (2) front hangers, (2) rear hangers, (4) 3-1/8" long shackle straps, (6) 3"x9/16" bolts, and (6) 9/16" locknuts. The parts are sized so the shackle straps line up with 1-3/4" wide double-eye springs for a snug, free-moving fit. Just weld the hangers to the frame and bolt everything together.

Smooth Travel Over Rough Roads: Proper Shackle Geometry Maintains Flex

With the fixed hanger up front and the shorter rear hanger using shackle straps, the springs can flex naturally as the axle moves. This lets the suspension absorb bumps instead of transferring harsh jolts into the frame. The result is steadier tracking and less bouncing whether the trailer’s loaded light or heavy.

Have not installed it yet so I can't review the product. I can tell you that etrailer's customer service is top notch. I called about a shipping delay after I placed my order. They assured me it would only be a day and not a week like my order confirmation said. Called back the next day and my order was already shipped. Good people to do business with.

by:

I not only order from this company for my personal use but also order these products for customers vehicles and trailers? at work. Their prices are excellent and if your unsure of the parts you need the customer service will help you narrow it down to the right part with little waiting.

by:

2nd purchase from etrailer and the service, selection & help is just outstanding as well as the price w/free shipping. Will ALWAYS shop etrailer for trailer and towing needs.

by:

The fit and finish were very good. Unfortunately, for me I had to order additional hanger brackets for the springs that were suggested for me as the kit only came with two compatible brackets. It has delayed my project for a few days until I get the new brackets.

by:

It has been over a year since I had rebuilt my trailers using parts purchased at etrailer.
This is the first time that I have been able to put any real miles on the unit and with 800+ miles the lights and everything performed flawlessly. I will not think twice of making additional purchases from etrailer.

by:

Same review as on other parts that came together: I ordered several things from Etrailer, all of which were great quality. There was a problem though...I did order online and reversed house number by accident and order didn’t arrive as anticipated. That said, even though shipping was my goof, Etrailer (Natalie and George) contacted the shipper, ran it down, corrected my error, and I got my items the same day. Wow, talk about exceptional customer service. Etrailer gets 5/5 stars from me. Could not ask for better service, and my parts...trailer springs too, were excellent. Thanks!!!! Chuck

After a year they work as they should.

by:

Thank you etrailer!

The shipment
arrived sooner than expected, the hanger kit was also included in the shipment with leaf springs I bought which arrived in a heavy duty box with very good packaging. As for the hanger kit it is heavy duty thicker gauge compared to the one currently on my utility trailer and will also raise my box. With beefing up my suspension I'll be able to carry a heavier load with my current axle.

by:

They have performed flawlessly I would buy them again probably never need them in my lifetime though

by:

I bought springs, mounts and Tailight kit to fix up a rusty utility trailer. I cut, weld scraped and painted for the better part of a month in spare time. The springs and mounting instructions on e trailer are excellent. Only issue/shortcoming are the tail lights. Wire just pushes in and spring loaded strip holds them. I soldered and sealed the connection with silicone. So far that salt covered roads haven't hurt it in winter. The folks at etrailer are very helpful and prices are a good value.

by:

Haven't installed it yet, but the components appear to be good quality. A little surprised that there are no actual spring bushings?? Maybe that's normal for trailer springs? Looks like a thin wrap of Teflon? or something. Anyway fast shipping and good packaging.

The hanger kit does not include bushings because the trailer spring normally comes with bushings. If you are concerned about where the shackle strap bolts to the shorter hanger, I recommend it is well lubricated with grease such as L11380.

by:

The hangers look good and I believe they will do a great job. I need to move my axle back on my trailer so it will be able to haul some weight. It is a dump style body and can't handle weight, only on the front of the trailer. So I am going to move the axle back about 6 to 8 inches. The tracking info on the kit was great... ALL gratitude goes to your company...

I have received significant support from e-trailer over the past 10 days as I have made several purchases for a new axle, springs, and hangars for my utility trailer. William and others have went out of their way to assist. I have been very satisfied with all products received. I will post another review when the trailer is completed.

by:

Made a nice little trailer to haul wife’s golf cart!

by:

Sturdy and durable, but I'll recommend to protect them with some galvazining compound if you're planning to use it in a boat trailer that touches saltwater.

by:

my order arrived well packaged.
the parts
are every bit as good as OEM and went together nicely.

by:

The axle hanger kit arrived today. I have done a dry setup; everything fits as expected.

Thanks for your excellent product and prompt delivery.

by:

Product arrived just as described and very quickly. This kit was a great way to drop the springs on our trailer enough for the axle to be put on correctly.

by:

Good kit with the necessary parts to replace leaf spring suspension. I welded the hangers rather than bolting them. The parts are not coated for the price point so you will need to paint them or they will rust immediately.

by:

all parts were as expected and arrived quickly, made a hard job easier by things arriving on time.

by:

I inherited an aluminum trailer that ended up needing a complete overhaul and etrailer was the best resource I could have found. After researching extensively to find out what I needed and watching their videos on how to do it I ended up ordering an EZ-lube axle, galvanized hubs, springs and a hanger kit (in other words everything from the frame down).
Everything shipped quickly and arrived in great shape. All the parts worked perfectly and I couldn't be happier!

by:

It is what i needed fast shipping

by:

This hanger kit was exactly as described when I ordered. The axle clearance to frame was perfect and the parts were manufactured to spec making my trailer build as simple as it could be.

  • Replacement Leaf Springs For An Ice Shanty Trailer
Hey Adam, 24-5/8" is a standard sizing for 2,000lb leaf springs so the 4-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles - 24-5/8" Long # e69SR is what you need. It unfortunately doesn't look like we offer a slipper spring in a higher capacity in a close enough length. You could weld on new hangers # APS4 to switch to double-eye leaf springs like the 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 2,500-lb Trailer Axles - 25-1/8" Long # e66SR for a bit more capacity to prevent the tires from...

When using the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles part # e27SR with the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs part # APS4 you will need to space the leaf spring hangers 25-3/4" apart.

For a single axle setup I recommend the Hanger Kit # APS4, and for a tandem axle setup I recommend the Hanger Kit # APT5. Since the U-Bolt kit sits on either side of the leaf spring, the space between them will be 1-3/4" - the same as your leaf spring width. You'll need to have new hangers welded on, as well as get leaf springs and, of course, the axle itself. For the hanger kit you can go with the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs - 3-1/4" Front, 1-1/4" Rear # APS4 which gives you 5 inches of distance between the center of the axle and the trailer frame. The best way to determine if a slipper spring will fit is by measuring the length from the center of the spring eye to the end end of the spring, as you can see in the accompanying diagram. • Installing Leaf Springs on Single Axle Trailer
For a single axle trailer, you want the shackle strap to be able to move so that you have the spring deflection needed for your suspension. Angled like the photo or even almost vertical is fine you just don't want the shackle strap to bind and have issue as you go over bumps. If it is completely vertical or angled back toward the axle, then your leaf spring is not long enough and your suspension components will not move as intended giving you a rough ride at best and at worst failure...
